While Project Runway is getting a makeover for next season, the show's host doesn't need any touching up. Heidi got back in the supermodel saddle to pose for the June issue of Marie Claire. As usual, she had lots to say about her family and showed her goofy side talking about the show. Here are highlights:
- On having a big family: "I always wanted to be a mom. At Thanksgiving, I have my parents there, I have screaming kids, I have a big fat turkey—18 pounds—sitting in the middle; legs are being ripped off that thing, you know what I mean? There's life in the house. I don't want to be wondering about how skinny I am, wondering what I'm going to eat because I don't want to gain and I want to look hot and young, always and forever."
- On Project Runway: "We're in this dark, tiny room, and I have 15 people in front of me who are terrified. It's not like, 'Hey, what's up?' You can hear a mouse fart in that room."
- On losing baby weight: "I always think, Look at how people were before they were pregnant. If you were a toned, healthy, energetic person, most likely you will be like that again. A lot of people come to me, and they're like, 'Will I look like you after I have a baby?' And I say, 'Well, how were you before?' You can't kid yourself."
To see what else Heidi had to say about Seal and motherhood, just read more.
- On Seal's proposal in the Canadian Rockies: "He took me by helicopter. He had an igloo built there, and they'd brought up everything: a bed with sheets inside the igloo, rose petals everywhere, candles. Very, very romantic! There was food and champagne, and then the helicopter left. It was a little scary, too, because you're so cut off from the world. No trees, nothing—it was hard-core. But I was ecstatic. I loved it. It was wonderful."
- On starting a family early: "Some people are afraid, especially in this industry, that if you are out of it, it'll be hard to get back in it. I didn't care. I thought, It's my life, not yours. I was ready to take the chance and not get back into it if they decided they didn't want me anymore."
- On the modeling industry: "When I started, Kate Moss was the hottest thing. It was not about being proud and upright with the smile glowing — a powerful woman. It was more about being a crushed, crumbled person in the corner; the beaten-down girl looking a little sad and tired."
We can always count on Heidi to show her blunt, down-to-earth side, but it's all just part of her appeal. Let's just hope they don't try to change her quirky antics when Project Runway finally comes back on the air.

I love her honesty.
1Love Her
2Is goofy the polite word for "not very smart"?
I usually find her to be pretty clueless and crude.
3She's really does not act that intelligent most of the time. There is this video of her and honestly she acts like she is on drugs. If she wasn't on drugs then there is no excuse for the way she was. She couldn't put a complete thought together and when she couldn't think of something to say she would bust out in this never ending annoying laughter. Someone like that is NOT normal. People think it's cute when they have their looks about them, but when they lose their looks and get about 50, then it's just sad seeing someone still trying to act funny and so attention seeking.
4i think she's cute but way over exposed. i can take a month or two without seeing or hearing about her.
5cute
6so annoying
7*she
8Always liked her.
9she is beautiful
10she's pretty but thats all
11LOVE her. She's insanely gorgeous!
12in the third picture she looks like a combination of jessica simpson and dina blowhan

14"I don't want to be wondering about how skinny I am, wondering what I'm going to eat because I don't want to gain and I want to look hot and young, always and forever."

15Love her!
16She is sooo beautiful!
I absolutely adore this woman. She's fabulous
17LOVE her too!
18She seems really down to earth. Oh and I spot a Blackberry
19I think she is great.
20I like her! I think she just doesnt take herself too seriously, which I can appreciate. She has so much business overseas and in the US, that we don't even hear about, that it has to take some kind of brains to be so successful.
21She's just so likeable. She seems really down-to-earth and is probably a great mom.
22A "mouse fart". Hahaha!
We used to say "it's so quiet in there, you could hear a rat piss on cotton"
Anyway, I dig Heidi. Don't know why, but I do.
23The whole honesty thing is definitely german; most germans are relatively blunt. I don't think she is "not very smart"-maybe it just comes across this way when she speaks english (perhaps because it is her second language)?
24Who cares about her. Just a brainles model making stupid comments that people should take seriously cause she's famous.
25She's so beautiful!!
26~JO~
Love her. Got be to my favorite model. He just seems so nice and down to earth.
27I'm with Ginger. I find her crude, too.
But she does photograph well. She's done some beautiful ads. But once she opens her mouth, the spell is broken.
28God could she be anymore gorgeous?!?!
29I love her.

Funny, honest and GORGEOUS what a combo.
30God, I love this woman. She's got the whole package.
31She looks great and she is so down-to-earth..such a cool gal!
32I love her! She's such a gorgeous woman.
33I like Heidi a lot, I admire her honesty and beauty. She also seems like a really great mom.
P.S. I love Seal's proposal! Thats so sweet, but I think she talked about it a long time ago too...this is TMI but i think she said that they conceived Henry that day.
34I think she is great! Finally...a beautiful person that is down to earth and doesn' t take herself too seriously. Great pics...
35Heh, I'm with Ginger.
36gees she looks hot, and she's very blunt!
37she's hot!
38"don't kid yourself" she might as well have just said "you will never be as good looking as me"
39what a b*tch
the "mouse fart" is funny. Ha! Was not expecting that. She's fab.
