The New Kids on the Block are officially back in action, and to gear up for their reunion tour they stopped by the Today show to perform some of their biggest hits of the '80s and '90s. So far you guys have been all for the NKOTB reunion, from their tour to their new single, so check out the video below and tell us what you think — awesome or embarrassing?

Belstaff
Petite Mendigote
Herve Leger
never was a fan so..
1I didn't even bother to look at the video. I used to like NKOTB, but that chapter is over me, and I don't care to look back. I know that sounds harsh, but I'm being truthful.
2LOL. Wow.
Did you see the audience members?
They didn't sound too good either.
3They started out a bit shaky, I admit...I wasn't impressed with the audio at all...but once they got going I enjoyed it. I like the new song too! All in all I thought it was pretty good...and I think they have all aged really well...Joey is still adorable, and Donnie is still my guy!! I am looking forward to seeing them in concert!
4Um. Ok so I was 6 at the time they were "hot". I had NKOTB clothes and a hat, and the only songs i remember singing was Right Stuff and PLease Dont Go Girl. So thats nice to hear them again..however...
didnt Jordan Knight and Joey try solo careers??? and they sounded better before and they both were unsuccessful. It just sounded lame and im sorry, they arent KIDS anymore
lol but nice try guys
5If its going to be a reunion show thats fine, but if they try to make a comeback its SAD
6Are boy bands making a comeback?
7Jonathan Knight is the adorable one. He's always in the background but I think he's the cutest! I don't know, at first it's embarrassing, and then I started liking it when they did the Right Stuff. It's kind of both. did they not perform any of their new songs?
8Oh, it's so sad! I used to be a mega fan. I had sheets and wall posters, and figures, and tshirts... I LOVED them! I think if they wanted to make a comeback- something more acoustically friendly would have done wonders. They were in the middle of a street where all sound is sucked out and thier sound guy needs to be fired for not turning their microphones up. Part of me loved it because it reminded me of what they used to be, and part of me was just so sad that they AREN'T what they used to be.
9rightttttt
10Give them some credit. It's been 15 years!! I loved it.
11OMG they were so off key and hitting clinkers. Uggh! Cringe!
12ok, i thought the backstreet boys trying to come back (or reunite..whatever) was sad and lame, but this is just pathetic. give it up!! you had your moment back then, but yeah, it's been close to 20 years.. sad. sad. sad... *****shakes head*****
13I'll admit I thought the idea of a reunion was a HORRIBLE idea but now that I've seen this clip, I think they could actually pull it off! I think I would actually go see them if they were in town! LOL! Mind you, I'm at work and have the volume turned down and I could tell the vocals were a little off, but they still got it. I was 10 at the height of their popularity and though I got over them real fast, hearing their old hits again is almost making me a fan again. Did you notice all the people in the crowd were old? Too funny!!!!
14I don't think they're sounding very good, but I still can sing along! HA
15Either their time is up or they just need to practice more. It sounded really bad but they did a good job with the dancing.
16Never was a fan as I was just a kid when they were big. But that was so excrutiatingly painful to watch, I mean it kind of sad I founf it more interesting that a woman was missing one of her huge hot pnk earrings.
17I got up at 5am this morning to go see them, and although it was so crowded I had to watch from behind the stage, I thought they were great! They looked fantastic! Sooo cute
(they were the first concert I ever went to when I was a little girl)
18Ugh! Had to turn it off after the one minute mark!
19Eh I couldn't get through even a minute of the video. But then again, I have no ties to them. I was born in '87 and have never listened to their music only ever heard of them
20Sorry, I'm totally eating it up. I'm definitley going to see them if they come to town. NKOTB 4 EVA!!
21reminded me of pOP in music and lyrics
22Oh come on it wasn't horrible! I admit it wasn't great but it was pretty good! The sound wasn't good, but there voices are still good. They look good and their dancing was pretty good. It's their first time singing live together in 15 years give them a break! They'll get better.
By the way I'm going to their 2nd show in Boston because I missed their concert as a kid. Their shows are selling out pretty quick so obviously a lot of people still want to see them...
23It wasn't the best, but it wasn't horrible either. I think for a reunion show it will be fun! I know I'm going to go! But as for their new cd...not so sure about that. I'm glad they stuck to the old stuff for the Today Show. I wasn't really feeling that new song that was posted awhile back.
24I am VERY excited and will be attending this concert..have it marked on my calendar for when tickets go on sale! They were my first big band that i liked when i was little i was like 6 and swore up & down that one day I would marry Joey!
25I think my fav part was seeing Donnie although he was never my fav he just looked so cute dancing around (I will never be able to see him as an actor again, i just stopped singing Hanging Tough every time i would see him in a movie!)
I thought they were great. DO you people who say they weren't good have any idea how many people DON'T SING LIVE on the Today Show?
Kudos to the guys for actually singing live. And, remember, it was pouring rain down on them... And they kept dancing and singing. They actually were on key, but they weren't miked properly.
Keep in mind, these guys are all getting close to 40 and can still move like they were teenagers.
26eifsbo - I agree. It wasn't the best thing ever but I thought it was really cute! I loved it! I am biased though. I was a superfan. I liked their "Tonight" performance. Glad that Joey didn't shy away from singing "Please Don't Go Girl" live!
I appreciate that they aren't in denial about their previous fame and what it was based on. It would have really been disappointing if they took an "only new stuff, nothing about the past" attitude. The desire to break from their past image was a reason why some didn't want to reunite on VH1's Bands Reunited show.
27HA! I love it! Maybe it's just the nostalgia washing over me, but they make me grin like a fool. I love Donnie Wahlberg. Just love him.
28Of all the great music in the 80s/90s this wasn't a group I would dare listen to!
29Used to love them, now I just feel bad for them. They sound terrible.
30I have to admit, this was hot! Love it! I will see them if they come to the bay area!
31How about grown man calling themselves NKOTB... embarrassing all around, not just on the Today Show.
32The need to realize they should update their actions to go along with their age. I felt bad that they are tying to bleed out one more round out of what used to be. It definitely made me cringe to where I turned it off!
33See tuscan that was the part that i liked they still did silly dance moves that were WHO THEY WERE...i thought it was great they didnt try to ignore all of that!
34There singing was a little shaky but lets admit their "reunion" is really about nostaglia...I enjoyed seeing their old dance moves! "The Right Stuff" awesome...come on they really were the "original" Boy Band! Love me some Joey McIntyre....
35They were definitely rusty. But, it wasn't too bad imo. I'm not sure if I could stand an entire concert. I don't like pop music anymore at all. I LOVED them, before I discovered Nine Inch Nails.
36its def not gonna work out.
37Great Sarah, I am glad you enjoyed it. We all are entitled to an opinion, hence the poll. I have grown since watching them as a kid and I was hoping they had evolved as well.
38I voted "embarrassing," because I don't think there is any need for them to come back, but to be honest, there will always be room in my heart for Jordan and Jonathan--back when I was a kid, I even named my parakeets after those two!
39They didn't sound good
40they sound like old men desperately trying to re-capture their youth
41How hard up for money are they? I'm sorry I couldn't get over the cheesy dance moves...that will go down as a classic clip.
42Come back fine but puhlease leave the 80's dancemoves back where they belong...IN THE 80's. Is it me or does Jordon always seem like he thinks he's too good for NKOTB?
43HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
44Did I mention?...HA!
OMG - This is HORRIBLE!!! How embarassing for all of them (and their families!). Poor Donnie has way too much of a receding hairline to be called a "kid."
45its not the best thing ive ever heard, but they were ok. i was expecting a bit more seeing its their comeback. and its logical they dont sound the same. they are older now....lol
46I love it!
Hey if it's good enough for the frigging Spice Girls...
47As a former fan... it's a bit sad, honestly. The moves, the old songs... come on! Joey is the only one who can still sing - probably because he was actually performing in the last few years, and not selling real estate
48I think you had to live it to understand...it wasn't the greatest performance but it brought back great memories and made me happy. It's not about artistic quality- I mean, it's the New Kids people. Were you concerned about "talent" when you were 11? It's all about fun and I think they had fun performing and brought back great memories for their fans. They have nothing to be embarassed about! Except maybe those back up dancers....ugh.
49Oh. My. Gawd.
** I think anyone under the age of 25 won't understand. ** You just had to be there the first time around.
I nursed a MAJOR obsession with NKOTB (yes, I can admit that now) and yes, the thought of a reconstituted NKOTB is cringe-inducing, but that performance wasn't as bad as it had the potential to be. Joey Mac crooning "Pleeeeease don't go giiiiirl...!" definitely took me back!
