Jennifer Hudson sure has had one hell of a year. She has won award after award and now her hometown of Chicago declared March 6th Jennifer Hudson Day. She even got a plaque to prove it! I wonder if she'll keep it next to her Oscar. To top off the day, she also signed on with Avon to be the next spokesperson for their Imari brand and upcoming fragrance, Imari Seduction. She sure is doing well for herself. Perhaps it's time to think about her next movie role.

I know that she is very talented, but I am kind of tired of her already.
Good for her. I am glad to see a black FEMALE getting all that attention and having success like that.
Yea, I am from chicago and people here go crazy, I mean she is okay but nothing to go crazy for! It will be so hard for her to live up to this...dont see her staying on top forever
If I were her, I'd be scared at this point. Hollywood is fickle and all this overexposure surely cannot be maintained. Just look at all the people whose stars shone overly bright and then kind of faded away -- Marissa Tomei, Ricky Martin, just to name a couple. I hope she doesn't become the Hollywood version of a one-hit wonder.
I really like her but she's becoming overexposed.

OVER IT!!
Although I was never into her.
i agree, yea she is good but its hard to go up any higher than where she is now! but, I to am kinda tired of her already!
does she HAVE to carry around the Oscar?
either way i like her. i don't care how much coverage she gets.
wow y?
I'm from Chicago also and almost threw up when I heard that on the radio. Give me a freakin break!
Bleh. I'm tired of her.
I'm proud of her! If she has the strength then she'll take the good with the bad publicity. If the public can handle the everyday events of the celebutantes, then I'm all for the constant tidbits on Hudson. Two very different takes on the glamour of Hollywood, keep it all coming!
She should forget movie roles because Jennifer is no size 0, and producers would want to play the Effie character over and over again. Jennifer should focus on her true talent which is singing.
Aw! Good for her! And good for Avon for hiring outside of the stereotype.
It's great that she has come a long way in such short time, but her camp should really stop overexposing her already.
Well, if she's smart (and I'm sure is is), Jennifer will wisely invest all the money she's made from all this. Then she can have a very comfortable life even if (and probably when) she is not in the spotlight anymore.
I don't know why anyone would say that it's good that a black FEMALE is getting all the attention. Shall I list Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle and Halle Berry that are all African American's that have gotten a LOT of attention thru the years.
I'm so tired of hearing about her. I'm over it. There is just something about her that bothers me but I'm not sure what it is......
Im tired of seeing her everywhere.
I'm bored with her already
Thats a bit much.
I'm not trying to sound like a sh*thead...but I think Mayor Daley did this because he's in hot water with the black community here. (yes, I'm from Chicago) Last year he promised not to use tax dollars for the Olympics (if we get the bid) and now he is starting to change his mind. The black community feels that he is disregarding their demorgraphic, just for self promotion and greed. I think he declared a "Jennifer Hudson Day" just to try and win back some of his fellow Chicagoans. I don't think it will work though. Hmmmm.....???
i think its kind of common that a mayor declare so and so day when someone from their city is that successful. as far as overexposure, she does have to keep pushing herself out there especially if she does not have any projects in the works. people forget very easily and she has to work hard to make sure that she doesnt get lost in the shuffle. personally, i think her best bet is broadway
TEAM FLUTTER!!!!!
She really is carrying around that Oscar too much now. Like everyone knows you have it. I like her though
Oh I agree - but the "Jennifer Hudson Day" came within a day of the Olympic Commitee touring the city and getting followed around by protestors from the black community. Daley is sucking up big time. (it also was proceeded with his press release that he may raise taxes) He's trying to secure his image for sure.
I agree with my fellow Chicagoans...I do not agree with naming a day just for her. I'm hesitant to say more, since the last time someone get upset with me for knocking her. However, I think it will be interesting to see what she does next...
about the only movie j.hud could qualify for will be the life story of AUNT JAMIMA,AND ONLY IF THEIR IS NO SINGING INVOLVED!!!!,she"s all ready packing on the weight for the role, that"s all she"got going for her, guess what??and unfoxy brown could be her understudy!!!!
Somehow she does not appeal to me.
I agree with most of you who said that all this overexposure might be a little too much! I mean I'm not her biggest fan but I can put up with her! I just am curious to see what she will do next? I mean she has options with movies and music so there is a chance!
i like her and i dont think theres anything wrong with her, i just think too much is being credited to her as a "pioneer" for overweight black females because as somebody else already pointed out, theres already been plenty of big names in that area
This is getting a bit out of control.
I'm hearing too much about. She's great, very talented but I think if it keeps up like this then she's going to either phase out or burn out like Paris.
OK slow down, we don't want to go overboard so soon on her.
