Yeah I thought Archuletta could sing very well but had no individuality or real performance quality... Cook had it all.

I am so happy David Cook won...he has true talent and seems like a great guy. I know I will buy his music...no matter what style he sings.

uuggggghhhh this was the first season I ever watched and I will never watch it again. David Cook was good but nothing compared to Archuletta. And for trying to look like such a "rock star", he sure did cry like a b*tch. EGH!

And David Archuletta was soooo adorable. I got goosebumps when he sang. Now he has to go home a loser to his crazy dad.

I was so happy! But our DVR cut out at "and the winner is David..." it sucked.

This was the first season I really didn't care about.
It was the first season where they actually encouraged some sort of individuality on a wide scale, too...which is strange. But there wasn't anybody who just stuck out at me as a favorite.

And the finale was so hilariously cheesey. "Ladies and gentleman, your american idol finalists!" Poor Michael Johns had to play host to Miss America. Actually Michael sounded better last night than he did through most of his performances. When put up against the other singers Ramielle actually probably has the best voice of all the females, she just needs some performance experience.
LOVED the GM song. I am sad that I can no longer see GM and think of him in those short short WHAM! shorts, but instead I immediately picture truckstop bathrooms.

Oh, and I don't really like Carrie Underwood's songs, but I'd KILL for those legs.

David Archuleta was good but I really don't see him doing as well as David Cook.

david cook will never be a chris daughtry, chris had bands wanting him way before he was eliminated, i dont see either one of them succeeding, and there is no one like carrie that girl has the whole package

I like David Cook alot. I also thought Carly and Micheal sang great together.
I did not watch last year because the people were terrible, but this year I actually liked a lot of them.

Cook will sell more albums than Archuleta, no doubt in my mind. I loved the Michael Johns & Carly Smithson duet. Looks like they really enjoy singing together and they sound fabulous. Someone should have steered George Michaels to a more peppy song though because he really brought the show's velocity to a screeching hault with that lullaby he sang.

I lost interest in IDOL after season 3. And I did not watch season 1.

I like watching the finales--not because I care who wins, but because they usually have awesome guests. I realllly stopped caring about last night's winner when George Michael came on. George freakin' Michael!!! (Yeah, I'm a child of the 80s, can you tell?) He was awesome!

So glad David Cook won! If he stays true to what he did on AI I would definitely buy his albums.

Sadly though, I hope he doesn't go way of the other males that have won.

I've never been into this show and don't watch it but since David Cook is an OK boy I wanted him to win. In interviews he seems like a nice guy and he does have a great voice.

First of all, for all of you that "don't care," I'm at a loss for why you open, read and post on things you care so little about. It's mind boggling.

Anyway, I figured it was going to be Archuletta. Those little tweens love that kid, so I was pleasantly surprised by Cook. Either way, they're both talented and they both have a future. Are they going to be Carrie Underwood succesful? Maybe not. But they'll do just fine.

yes,i was very happy with the outcome. this is the first yea that i've actually watched episodes of the show, and to be honest, with all the hoopla around the younger david, i thought he was going to win, but i think that the right guy won.

I didn't watch a single episode this season, but I watched the finale last night. I saw David Cook perform years ago (I think in 2002 or 2003?) at a band showcase, so of course I was rooting for him to win!

I can't believe some people are giving Cook crap for crying. Like gee I know you've been working you ass off for months for this and it finally came down to you winning and it's an amazing experience, but uh don't show any emotion, we don't like that. Give the guy a break. I mean Archuletta cried when he went home and saw all his fans, but Cook can't cry when he freaking WINS?
Both will do okay I'm sure. Maybe not superstardom, but they'll do okay as regular musicians.

geez guys, what's up with all the angst about this show. I love this show and was so happy Cook won. Little David is an amazing singer but I had a really hard time coming up with what type of album he would make. Cook on the other hand is going to make an amazing rock album and his voice is killer; it stacks up to Daughtry and I can't wait to hear what he comes up with.

I didn't watch at ALL this season.

i wish i taped last night's show... i would totally watch it again! the opening song with david & david was soooo good! it didn't even matter who won (although i'm in love with david cook) they'll both do very well in their music careers. i loved all the musicians that performed. seal and syesha were amazing. even bryan adams was cool. this was definitely the BEST season in a long time!

I didn't watch a single episode but I am excited for a fellow Oklahoman to win (again!!) David is pretty well known around Tulsa for his former (?) band Midwest Kings and he was also a bartender here at the Blank Slate downtown.

Not that any of that really means anything if you aren't from around these parts

archuleta would have never made it in the world of fame. i don't think he was ready. too young and in awe of everything around him. DCook is ready and I think he'll do a great job and put out a CD with music I might actually like.
