Sofia Coppola got all bundled up to take her 3-month-old daughter Romy out for a walk in frosty New York this week. Too bad we don't get to see the little one hiding in the stroller! The Marie Antoinette director recently opened up about her newest project -- being a mom. Here's more:
Motherhood is "great," she said. "Right now I'm focusing on that. The baby is only three months old. It's a lot of heating bottles, so that's what I do all day."
So now that she's been a mom for three months, does she have her new role down pat? "No, I don't think anyone has it down pat!" she said. "It's definitely a new adventure."
We're sure Sofia will do a fabulous job at her new adventure just as she does in all her fantastic films! More of Sofia, Romy and Thomas Mars so read more
Good to know that little animals died to make Sofia her grandma coat.
1who's the father?
2It could be faux?
3The father is Thomas Mars - he's European I think - a musician too. I love her - too bad Marie Antoinette bombed w/ reviewers - I loved it!
4NO FUR!!! I wish she could be ashamed of herself for wearing this.
5Love the coat. I know I know...it ain't right but it's SO nice!
6Well, I was gonna b*tch about the fur too.....
7Ugh yet another fur debate...go to PETA's website or something. I take it none of you eat meat, wear leather, bought Uggs for their comfort, etc. etc. Enough already.
8I heard she's 35 years old. For some reason, I thought she was much younger - she looks younger anyway.
9Hi Liquid Sunshine, actually she is 29
found it on Wikipedia (whatever it is, I
never get it right...hee) and IMDB.
10OOPS! I'm sorry, I thought I was in the Maggie Gyllenhaal post! Ignore my last post...Sofia is 35 (same sources, ha!)
11Is that clay aiken? Haha, doesn't it look like him?

12that's what she said!
WOW!I'm delighted to see someone pushing something other than a Bug. Yet I am aghast at the fur. I'm also surprised she's not nursing. While I realize than some women can't nurse, I with her background and lifestyle, I'm surprised she doesn't. Most of the women I have known you have had to quit ran out of money and time between lactation consulting services and having to get back to work, and she's got both. I nannied bottle fed babies and heating them does not take "all day." Oh well.
He looks freezing doesn't he? Why don't Europeans ever dress warmly enough when they are here?
13her coat is amazing. the fur doesn't really bother me, sorry. and i just LOVE sofia!
14shes very plain lookin, her husband very weird lookin
15I love her she is so talented and down to Earth, she could so easily have been a 'Paris Hilton' type sponging off her dad all her life and doing nothing but partying, but she has made something of herself and I think she's great....not a big fan of fur but it sure does look toasty
16I would like to hear more about her.
17I adore the coat, and I applaud the comment from Jmast.
18I think sofia is cute. She has no make up on in this picture. Her bloke is french i think. Sofia's voice in films is something I really admire too. She's so subtle. She takes risk too. I think the latter is a fabulous trait.
19"All her fantastic films..."
Don't you mean her ONE fantastic film (Lost in Translation) and her two self-indulgent, all-style-no-substance, pretty pieces of fluff?
I love Sofia, and I think it's great that she's a high profile, Oscar winning, female writer/director/movie maker in a very male-dominated industry, she has a wonderful aesthetic and she will make fantastic films one day when she really hones her craft, but right now I think she's just a tad over-rated.
20MA has little 'substance' or 'structure' because it's meant to be impressionistic (look at Monet paintings). I thought it was a very risky thing to do. I feel the film has served its purpose. It's not your typical hollywood films. That's why some people think it's kind of flaky. It was great she did MA right after lost in translation. She doesn't care about the trophy. Good on her for taking that risk.
21I can't believe she made Marie Antionette. That was one of the worst movies I've watched in awhile.
22Who is she? I have no clue...
23I'm not really down w/ fur but i do LOVE my vintage coat I got from my gramma!
24I don't have kinds or anything but couldn't she be heating up bottle of breast milk that she already pumped?
The Virgin Suicide was a good film! And yea sashak, she heating bottles doesn't mean formula.
25I know I'm probably going to burn in hell but I can't see a cute baby coming from these two.
26I love her films. Congrats Sofia!
27i hope the guy next 2 her is not the father...he look like he got abused by the ugly stick..im serious
28Sashak-that's a good point.
29OK she's had the baby, now she needs to touch up her roots!
30I LOVE Sofia Coppola. She is my idol!
