We've become a pretty big fan of the new Nicole Richie. She entertained us as the funnier, willing to try anything half of The Simple Life but thinking back to where she was last year, we can't believe how much she's changed. Last Memorial Day Nicole was ridiculed for her nasty email invite about only allowing in girls who weighed less than 100 pounds. The now much healthier mother was battling image issues then but she appears to be more confident, beautiful and healthier than ever.
That same party resulted in Mischa Barton ending up in the hospital after the two girls were spotted preparing for the party. Later that year, Nicole drove down a highway the wrong way, was arrested for a DUI and is now in traffic school to make up for it all. Nic is now a loving dotting mother of Harlow who has a fabulous charity and is proving to all that a recovering addict can become a happy, healthy role model. Here's to Nicole teaching a few other Hollywood messes how things can be done right.

23Pop - Sorry to nitpick, but she got the DUI months BEFORE the Memorial Day party last year. She was actually very early in the first trimester of her pregnancy with Harlow this time last year (although I don't know if she knew it at the time) and she was sentenced for the driving on the wrong side of the freeway a couple months later, right before she announced her pregnancy (althought she had committed the crime several months earlier).

26It's great to see an addict getting their life on a good path, but I hardly call her a role model. I have no problem if she chooses to pursue an unhealthy level of weight and be an unmarried mom, but those aren't lifestyle choices I'd want to promote as role model to others.

I can remember all the horrible comments that were left after we found out she was pregnant. We were very mean about it, but she's been doing a fabulous job as a mother! Apparently, she was one of those people who needed to get pregnant and have a child to straighten her out and get her on the right track.

33And healthy? She looks way too skinny for a new nursing mother. You can't just look at her old anorexic body and claim she's healthy now using that as reference
34I didn't really get interested in her until she got pregnant. Pregnancy humanizes celebrities to me. She's definately shaping up her image and she looks healthy.

36Still not a fan. She's a mom and has kicked some of her old habits which is good but I'm not completely convinced. I did not find her funny or interesting when I tried to sit through the simple life. I found her mean spirited and over rated. She may have changed but it's hard fr me to respect a person who treated people who aren't as wealthy as her like scum. I don't hate her, but I don't like her.
37sidra, i totally agree with u. im not a fan and i prefer paris to nicole. nicole wants to seem cool and laid back but from her episodes on simple life, she wasnt a very nice person. she was always sabotaging people and their plans etc..
