Environmentally friendly Leo is certainly committed to making the world a better place. He started an eponymous Foundation to raise environmental awareness and he's financially supporting a child in Africa. He chooses to work on films that educate and inform such as Blood Diamond and the upcoming Conspiracy of Fools, about political corruption. As if that weren't enough, he's produced and narrated a documentary out this year called 11th Hour which also deals with environmental issues. All this and he's about to get into a Prius. Maybe next time he will remember to wear a coat in cold NYC since he has to probably pump up the heat in the car.

Prius lovers untie!! Love Leo. at least we have one thing in common!
1I think it's GRRREEEAAT!
2I love Leo
3for awhile he started looking a little bad but hes deff cleaned up his look again and looks great
4He is a great actor, and I love how he keeps the focus on his career and issues that are important to him. He isn't obsessed with his own celebrity like some people. I think that is very classy and admirable.
5I loved him in Blood Diamond, he was really hot and a great actor....
6He is a really brilliant actor. He picks amazing roles and I love the fact he is active in protecting the environment.
7Good for him. I love when celebs use their power for good.
8I love him, but I can't seem to forget that there was that big hoopla about his movie, "The Beach", where there was tons of protests because filming the movie cause major damage to this particular, uninhabited, untouched beach. Apparently, it really ruined the ecosystem there. I remember it being a huge deal, but being an "environmentalist" didn't cause him to not do the movie.
9was he an envionmentalist at the time? he's quite young...he may have matured in the meantime, don't you think?
10Love Leo
11I think Leo should ask Gore how much gas his jet burns & how much energy he uses to heat up and cool down just -one- of his houses... just sayin.
12Leo has said in interviews that he started becoming interested in enviornmental issues during the protests about "The Beach"
On a side note, xxbritney: I agree, the man cleans up nicely!!
13Well, I'm glad it changed him--I just find it interesting that it didn't take effect until after he got his paycheck from it. But I still love him.
14lemuse20... someone's been watching FOX news. I don't expect Al Gore to live in a tipi somewhere in the woods -- atleast he's trying to do something about it. I think it's awesome what Al Gore and Leo are doing - more power to them
15I agree vbCourtney--it's more than what A LOT of people do. We just need people to listen.
16I think it's great he has found some causes he believes in as he's become older.
17yea al gore had a $30,000 ELECTRIC bill for his home last year, way to save the planet from global WARMING!???
18yay, leo's hot again! time to watch romeo and juliet. . .
19To me it just makes him so much more lovable.
20good for him, the environment is a very important issue that we should all be aware of
21Looks like someone's caught cold?
22Looks like someone needs a little warming up...
23**coy grin**
Why is he only supporting one child? Can't you pay like 25 cents a week or a day for so many years and support that way? If that's the case then he could easily do a whole country.
24so hot
25Leo continues to set the standard for his peers on how to use his celebrity for something positive. Good for him.
And as for the whole Al Gore debate, don't forget his statement on the matter-
"Gore's family has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100% green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels, and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy saving technology."
• "Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family's carbon footprint -- a concept the right-wing fails to understand."
Now, think about all of the mansions in Hollywood owned by the celebrities we obsess about here all day. How many of them have taken these measures??
26Lurv him. He's awesome as an actor and as a world-changer. But, I think he and Eric Dane look a lot alike. The first time I saw Eric Dane (McSteamy), I thought: Wow is that Leo's little cousin?
27thank you yayi! I hate hate it when people regurgitate crap they hear w/out bothering to check the facts. oh wait, FOX News does it all the time...
for treehugging dirt worshippers!!
28Diva.....everytime I watch Grey's now I can't help but see some Leo in McSteamy! LOL! I love Leo but it looks like he's getting sick! Awwww
29"Tree Hug the World"...that title is so funny!
30And JKe895's comment made me crack up too. So true! Although I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny...
31NICELY said yiddidea
32Im so proud of people who care passionately about things and work towards them. It's Angelina Jolie's only saving grace in my book. You have to admire them.
33Good for him. He is a great actor and an even better person.
34aww poor baby but you gotta love Leo he's great.
35aww poor baby but you gotta love Leo he's great.
