I just read that old Bazaare article with Katie Holmes, where she talks about how her new project will be well worth the time away from Tom and Suri, and she evidently considered Mad Money to be well worth it, over Dark Knight?! I know batman is commercial but I honestly don't get it! Oh well, Maggie will be a great replacement, but I was really pulling for Rachel McAdams in this role!!

I think Maggie is SO TALENTED, and I think she will be amazing. I thought Katie was pretty boring in Batman, and she kept smirking through out it, and talking out of the side of her mouth.

The movie was really amazing otherwise, and I can't wait for the sequel.

what? i don't think maggie looks like katie holmes... but anyways this movie is certainly a departure from her indie films. i wonder if i will enjoy the second installment more than the first

Might be me, but Katie Holmes is not an actress. She will always be the less interesting one from Dawson's Creek. I can't remember seeing her in anything that was great. She was the weakest part of Batman.

I actually think Maggie is much too talented for a movie like Batman. I'm sure she'll do a much better job than Katie, though. I saw Katie in a movie where she was the President's daughter, and it bored me to tears. She's really more of a small screen actor, in my humble opinion.

Maggie's a great choice to replace Katie Holmes. That role is for someone who's really down to earth and passionate. Katie was just a tad too cool to pull that off, even then - pre-Tom

I thought for sure Katie's career would skyrocket since she became Tom's bot-girl (like both Nicole's and Penelope's). Guess he has a little more control over this one (perhaps he had the brain chip upgraded).

i never would have though of that but i can deff picture rachel mcadams in the role! i read it article a while ago about the extradionary difference in payment that katie is getting from taking the other role, like she took a huge downstep in a paycheck so at this point im not too sure what she's trying to "achieve as an actress" since it doesn't seem to be about the money..

While Katie did suck in Batman and while not doing the sequel is a ridiculous Cruise Control mistake.. I am not sure Maggie is the right replacement.

Don't get me wrong..I love her and she is incredibly talented(huge fan of Scretary, Sherrybaby, even Donnie Darko and other roles)..but Rachel would have been a better fit I think.

I am interested to see how it plays out.

This bit totally threw me. Why would Maggie Gylllllennnnhhhhhaaaaaaal (however the hell you spell it) want to be in a Batman movie!?!?!? She has all sorts of serious acting cred and a cool, quirky repertoire of films. I think Jessica Alba would have been a better replacement.

Katie Holmes is a terrible actress, completely boring.
Maggie is amazing and adorabl. I don't doubt Christopher Nolan's ability to use her properly for a second and I know that she and Christian Bale will be smokin' together. I believe they'll be a more mature Bruce and love interest (who knows if they'll keep using Rachel Dawes) than Katie and Christian were.

p.s. I wish Cillian Murphy could be in the film again somehow, so dreamy.

dude- she may be a good actress (who knows- i've never seen anything she's in), but i can't see anyone taking her seriously as ANYONE's love interest in something like Batman. All the Batman girls have been gorgeous. Can this chick compare to the likes of Michelle Pfieffer? Katie may be a bad actress but she's pretty. Maggie is fug as all getout. I agree with Michael from D-listed- she's like a brunette Kiki Dunst.

I actually loved the last Batman movie!! Can't wait for this one to come out but I have to agree with the others who said Rachel would have been a better fit for the role! I mean Maggie is a great actress and all but I don't think she's the typical hot leading lady!
