Ashley Judd has been committed to international humanitarian issues for some time now, and yesterday she came before the UN to speak passionately about the human trafficking crisis. She became involved in the cause after traveling the world on her global health tour raising HIV/AIDS awareness. At the press conference, Ashley said, "I know that the unheard are helped when they are heard. I know that compassionate listening helps me, and my goal was to help the UN help them." Ashley's famous smile is especially wonderful combined with the big heart and helping hand she brings to such important and critical global issues.

I saw her on Iconoclasts on Sundance - she really does work hard to represent the UN and the women in need well.
1She's doing a great job being awarness to this issue. I knew nothing about untill I saw that docu.

7that is a REAL humanitarian to me!! she's a simple woman and leads a simple life!! i take her humanitarian work SERIOUSLY and she doesn't seem to think she knows everything but she actually does! she doesn't put out 3 movies a year and only do charity work a few days for publicity. She goes to impoverished countries and doesn't bring 5 cameras with her. she graduated from an actual college and she's not self-righteous. I LOVE THIS WOMAN!

9Ashley has always been a fave of mine. Her heart and beauty are expressed from the inside out along with her intelligence. I met her once and just thought "what a down to earth lady". She was at a speaking event and I got to attend (several years ago when I was in college).

14Hate to the wind of change, but I actually know her. She used to date a good friend of mine back in the early 90's named Chris from South Carolina. (they even took a photo of them for the National Enquire) She can be a real whack job of a person, flipping out like a mad woman if you don't believe in her causes. She was younger then so hopefully she's settled down some now. She really looks like her mother.
15She is gorgeous, and not so obsessed with her looks. like, she has some wrinkles but it's a lot prettier than a plastic face. Her skin is lovely.
