Christina Aguilera celebrated Jordan's b-day in sweats leaving a party at a friend's yesterday. People have been talking about her weekend out in Vegas, but judging from that smile it's not getting under her skin. She told Access Hollywood, "I spend all day with my son and once in a while if I want to go out and have a mommy-daddy night with my husband, I am more than allowed to do that...They never air (footage) of the paparazzi actually pulling up beside my husband and being like, ‘When is she going to leave the house? I have been trying to get a picture of her for weeks.'" That's not the only controversy surrounding Xtina, people are all in a huff over her Rock the Vote ad in which her baby Max is swaddled in an American flag. These may be her mommy rather than drrrty days, but Xtina still knows how to keep people talking.

I don't think she should have wrapped her baby up in the flag. I think she could have done a much better photo shoot and incorporated the flag into it without defacing it. When I looked at the photo is wasn't profound or beautiful, it looked awkward and uncharming to me. It certainly didn't make me want to run out and vote.
1People wouldn't say much about her going out if what she's implying was true...not being seen out for weeks? YEAH RIGHT! This woman is out like EVERY night! Spare me with the 'well moms can go out babies sleep at night' crap. No good mom is out EVERY night. Babies wake up in the middle of the night all the time. She needs to get it together, you know if it was Brit Brit (and she had custody of her kids) you would be saying the same thing.
2it's like a no win situation for her. people forget that even when you have a kid you're allowed to still have a life and that's what she's trying to do. i hope that things start to settle down for her ....
3I say leave her alone. If she goes out two nights a week out of the seven days, that does not make her a bad mother. AND it's none of OUR business how she raises her child as long as she's not hurting him. I think it's healthy for her to get out over the weekends, because a mother's every waking moment is with her baby. Your children are precious, but your life doesnt end as soon as you give birth. Also, these flag rules are ridiculous, I love America, but I also love my God, and I am not celebrating any symbol over the cross. Most religions would regard this whole flag worship as idolatry, but they are more than happy to get in a huff when someone uses a piece of cloth to their disliking.

For people who have never fought for the country we live in, then I assume the flag is just another piece of "cloth". But if you were ever out over seas, 19 yrs old, scared, and seeing your friends lying dead all around you, seeing that American Flag with help coming is a vision that my father will never forget. People like my father who fought for this country deserve respect. The flag that flies in symbolism of this country deserves respect. You say you believe in your God. How would you like someone to deface your bible? It's only some pieces of paper right?
It's a federal law not to deface the American Flag, even though it's not enforced, it's still a law, and even if it wasn't, it's something that people need to respect and not use it as "props" for their own self gain.
5Mommy & Daddy night out is one thing...acting like a drunken *sshole in Vegas is quite another. As for the flag/baby thing, the photo is inappropriate.
6man, i'm just happy she didn't assault us with the sight of her gargantuan breasts for once. her whole look is too in-your-face and it's gross.
7i'm not saying your thoughts about the flag are wrong lolly, but i don't think it was used for self gain- she was promoting voting. and i doubt she was the only one on the set when this idea was conceptualized.
8i agree with christina mommy and daddy should have alone time, nothing wrong with it and lets not compare her to sh*tsh*t, i agree lollylolly about the flag, and i agree with tadow about the parenting
9thats what i thought too meglin about the flag but was not sure so didnt want to mention it, thanks
10wow
11she looks much cuter in this sort of outfit than her boobs baring dresses.
12She's a good mom.
13The paps are good at making your beileve what they want you to beileve!
I don't get what the American obsession with being with your kids every freaking moment (even when they're SLEEPING) is. People do different things with their spare time, Christina goes out, so what? Some mothers have to work, and we shouldn't call them bad mothers. She has already worked hard in her life, so she doesn't need to do that right now! If it were even our place to judge her as a mother, I think we'd have to look at more than the nights she goes out, like how she is during the day with her son!
It really irritates me that NO ONE has said anything about her husband being out with her!
And I don't think you can compare her to Britney because Britney actually has an illness....
14i'm surprised she has her boobs covered
other than that, it's left to her discretion
to go out and party as she pleases, it certainly does not enable anyone to judge her, it's her responsibility, so let her have it
15I have no problem with her going out and having mommy and daddy time, I think that's a very important thing to do. I do have a problem when I see multiple pictures of her having to be helped out of these clubs because she's so wasted drunk. And this has happened on more than one occasion. I gave her a pass for it once, the first time it happened, 'cause I thought maybe her tolerance for drinking had really dropped since having the baby. But then I saw more times it happened and it really turned me off. I hope it doesn't happen anymore, because the thought of her going home to her kid like that, is just shameful to me.
16my friend (who might possibly be the best mother thus far I've ever seen) has a 10 month old and although she loves every second of time with the baby, when its time for her to go out or do something without the baby, she is excited about that.
The flag thing is not a big deal to me. She looks like crap in that picture anyways.
17oh and the drunk thing- Im sure when that baby wakes up at 5 in the morning and she has a hangover, she remembers why she doesnt drink like that anymore. Course she probably just has a nanny who just deals with it. Either way.. I doubt she is stumbling around the house screaming "WHERES THE BABY?!" or singing "Still Dirrty"
18I doubt it too, Brian, but someday that kid might see those pictures and I feel bad for how he might feel about it.
19I have no issue with the flag thing. I think so many people are goddamned hypocritical when it comes to things like that.
There is nothing wrong with going out as long as the child isnt neglected.
Does it mean that mothers who stay at home with their babies every night of the week are the best mothers? Tell that to the mothers who shake the hell out of their kids out of pure frustration because all they want is a quiet moment to themselves.
Yeah.
20I honestly don't think that her child seeing her "drunken" pics will feel bad, especially if shown to him at an older age. For that matter you might as well say her son will be embarrassed when he sees some of her old videos, which I believe he will actually see as opposed to some random pap pics.
Mom and dad are allowed to have a good time, even if it's 1 0r 2 days out of every single week, or even eating dinner out (which is the photos that we have mainly seen, mind you). I agree with snowbunny, why are people forcing WOMEN to be with their baby 24/7, we know the world doesn't work that way and it shouldn't.
21As for the flag
get off your patriotic pony!!!
22I served this country, lolly and I don't find the picture offensive at all. Are you sure it's actually a flag? Or is a flag-printed material? When this story came up in CitizenSugar, I had to agree with many of the other folks when they said it offends them more to see American Flag printed string bikini/man-thongs/boxer shorts than a picture to promote voting.
23Moving on... good for homegirl for going out and still having a life. If she gets a little twisted up now and again... so what? She spends the rest of her time with her baby.
Whoop-dee-doo. So she goes out without the baby - quick, call Social Services!! Flippin' hell.
24You are probably right, tiabia, but I guess I'm just thinking about how I'D feel IF I saw those pictures and I was her child. But hey, maybe he won't care.
25She's human, if she wants to go out with her hubby then more power to her. It's her life and we only see what the media lets us see. And I think if I saw pics of my mom walking out of a bar with my dad I would laugh
26what is so offensive about wrapping your baby in the flag?? I find it wonderful actually. Wrap him up in his country! People just need something to complain about. I don't think it was defacing the flag at all.
As for Xtina going out a couple nights a week...who the heck cares??? It is HER life and HER child. I have only seen her look a bit tipsy once and I know I have been tipsy on more than one occasion but does that make me a bad mother??? Of course not. EVERY new mom needs a night or two to let loose once in awhile. She happens to be a celeb whose every move is now scrutinized even further since she became pregnant.
27i would rather my son see pictures of me coming out of a bar or a club with my husband, than him stumbling across pictures of me with random men
28lol- amen on that one pinky
29It's sad that what our whole nation was built upon is now looked down on and the ones thinking that are the ones reaping America's benefits from people who have sacrificed in the past. Of course it's just a piece of cloth to many...to many people who don't know the true sacrifice of freedom.
Lose your father, husband, daughter, or son to something they believed in (protecting our freedom), and say Patriotism is for the weak. Then I might listen.
30Oh for God's sake.
31LollyLolly,
Are you serious!?! I can only hope you get this angry when crosses are burning in the front yards of families that have sons and daughters fighting for this country. Or that you you get this angered when families of those fighting have to face racial, sexual and economical oppression on a daily basis. While I love my country and love my flag, there's clearly more darkness behind that symbol that needs to be defeated and met head first, than a mother wrapping her son in it.
32Mon
33no I don't. I actually like seeing the flag where ever it is, the fact is she's a celebrity and she was in an ad to "rock the vote". If you love your country take a stand and vote. She should have known that swaddling an infant is totally against the rules for the flag. Just as we have rules and laws to protect people, we also have rules and laws to protect our flag. And for the people who find it a RANT, you really have no clue. Other countries are very protective of our flag and are taught the value of respecting it's nation..America falls short with teaching it's youth as it's fully demonstrated on this site by many of your comments. My whole issue was with the COMMERCIAL...IT'S A NATIONAL AD, rules for the flag should have been followed.
Tiabia
PLEASEEE
Cross burning??? lol I'm BLACK. My father was one of the first black Sargent Majors in Vietnam. PLEASE don't come here especially around me, complaining about race. I see white people who are racially targeted just as much as black, so PLEASE. It's really Faux Pas to talk race when it's better now for African Americans than it has ever been in the history of this nation.
Try listening to James David Manning the pastor of the ATLAH World Missionary Church. He's one of the most brilliant men I've ever heard speak. You might learn something.
atlah.org/
34I never said that you had to be black, I just said do you get just as offended when the families of those fighting are attacked. And you didn't answer my question.
35Lolly~ Give me a break! Really at this point? You're more comfortable with an american-flag thong being up some person's ass than someone swaddeling a CHILD with it? I think it was a powerful picture, and obviously it's getting the attention it wanted, regardless of your negative interpretation of it.
36
The thread's dead anyway. Enjoy your conversation with yourself, since it's fairly obvious
you just enjoy reading your own posts.
37I know it's not popular to be Patriotic these days, But Lolly I agree with everything you've said. For the freedoms, choices, and benefits this nation gives us, it's a small price to pay to know and respect the flag code.
38You people are crazy if you think Cristina actually takes care of her own kid. She has a nanny to do that.
39she is out 24/7 and yea papz cant take pix of hers?
40whorina go out! go out!poor u! u havent had any fresh air since giving birth!u and nicole richie both need air and some of them mommy daddy thingy! GAAH!!!!
Oh for heavens sake.
41It was a symbolic thing, to swaddle her baby in the American Flag. I think it's a beautiful thing.
It's not like she used the flag as a diaper or something.
Kitten it's about a code. Not about what is beautiful. I would have made the advertisement totally different without disrespecting the flag.
42I'm not american and didn't know about this code. So I'm surprised by some reactions. Like others, I've seen the print of this flag in bikinis for men's magazine (I think of Rachel Bilson in GQ)and plenty of other things.
43But why the controversy comes when it's use for an ad vote and is clearly a symbolism to show why you should vote? Why people say nothing when it's used for sexy pictures?
I agree with snowbunny11.
44My husband is an officer in the United States Army and we are from Guam. We love America and celebrate the liberation of Guam every year. We are thankful that Guam is American territory, and we respect the flag greatly. I was shocked when we moved to the states and saw how the people of Guam respect the American flag more than the people here do.
45I agree leilani. People here don't respect the American flag that much I see. It's a shame. For all I know they might as well go around mooning the flag. I guess "I'm proud to be an American"song has gone out the window to many.
46P.S. I'm an American and I don't feel free!
By the way for Christina I say she can show and enjoy it just as long as she has one a$$ and not two! She can have fun so what's the big deal? As long as she's a good mother you won't hear any arguments from me.
Everyone needs to back the F off . No one is allowed to judge this woman or any of them anymore. The media and the public are disgusting for what they did to Britney Spears and all the bad choices that led to her downward spiral. Christina Aguilera is in the middle of working on an album and also was in Vegas at LAX because she owns half of it and also is the face and muse of Stephen Webster. One still has to make money , childbirth does not mean you need to sit on your ass and waste away. I'm so sick of everyone being so dam judge-mental.
47Oh and about the American Flag thing get over it. It's just a piece of cloth. It's just a symbol used to represent each country around the world. I don't find wrapping a child around it to be inappropriate. I find a woman wearing it has a bikini to be quite hysterical.
48Oh and while I'm on the subject I'm so sick and tired of Military Personal throwing it in our faces that they "served our country for us". No you served because you wanted too (your freedom you were not drafted) and you served under false pretenses. For every soldier killed in Iraq 10,000 Iraqis die. Explain that. Sure we were targeted during the fall of the Twin Towers but I'm so sick of everyone using this event as a fuel to add fire. I was there I saw the towers fall. Do I have rage . No . This war has cost us Billions of dollars. Our people are going poor, hungry, and broke. The only ones that in all this are satisfied are the people in the Oil Business and all the Republicans who believed "God" wanted this too happen. There are terrorist attacks that happen in London, Madrid, and elsewhere. Did everyone go to war. No.
ok I feel great. Glad I got that out my chest.
49flipping eck. im a brit. some of the most famous images are using our flag in different ways. for example those famous pics of liam gallagher and patsy kensit in bed with a union jack duvet. or the sex pistols singing god save the queen and defacing her pics on t-shirts. its the right of people to do what they like to their flag. blind and unquestioning patriotism is wrong and leads to bad foreign policy. question everything including your governments actions abroad.
