Lance Armstrong and Kate Hudson managed to squeeze in dinner and drinks at the museum in addition to their tennis time this weekend, while the NY Times was comparing Lance the philanthropist to Lance the serial dater. The question is whether his personal life gets in the way of his work as a role model and spokesman for fighting cancer, so what do you think — does Lance's playboy lifestyle hurt his reputation?

Cheap Monday
again seriously pop
1i just wish he was not dating her
2Doesn't hurt him at all. I don't think it's hurting him as much, many people just see the good that he does by continuing to raise awareness and money for cancer research and cure. Now, if just completely abandoned his philanthropy work there's a whole different outlook.
On the other hand her reputation stinks.
3reputation??? seriously??? LOL
4His rep was ruined for me when he buddied up with George W.
5ZZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZZzzz
6I just think I couldn't be interested in someone who has hooked up with that many people and tries to make it out to be serious with each of them.
Sheryl feels lucky to be done I'm sure.
7Yea, LOL, Lance's reputation. I think Kate's rep, such as it was, is taking a bigger bash at this point than Lance's.
8how is he a playboy? i havent heard much about his dating life besides sheryl crow and kate... and it wasnt like either was a one night stand.. haha
9Kate looks weird without eye makeup. She looks just like Ryder!
10Yes, not only his but his [many] girlfriend's too.
11never cared baout him so..dont even know
12*about
13
14kate looks weird in those pics. i don't care about lance's rep to be honest.
15i just dont see what the big deal is....both of them are grown adults who can choose who and how many people they date..
16who cares?
17I dont think so...I think if anything the perseption of a lack of the relationship with his own children could hurt him.
18I can't beleive so many people think it does affect him. So in order to be a role model you have to only be in one relationship ever? He brings attention to important things going on. I don't care WHO he's dating, in mind mind he's doing good.
19he is hardly a playboy he has had a normal amount of relationships. He can't help being such an awesome person.
20I personally don't care about his love life... but several atheletes I know are not thrilled with his catting around. They feel it hurts his reputation.
21I think the two are unrelated. I don't think he's doing all that work for cancer research for the benefit of his reputation. It's obviously his chosen crusade. He strikes me as the "I'll do as I damn well please" kind of guy and to hell with anyone who disagrees. IDK I can think of more annoying people...
22what does anyone really know about him and his relationships? what gives him 'playboy status'? seriously. and how is it at all related to his contribution to cancer awareness or anything else philanthropic?
23Oh, the New York Times just had to make so many suggestions. I don't think he's dated THAT many women. Seriously - three (Sheryl Crow, Tory Burch, Kate Hudson) in about four years? I think if he were anyone else or dating less high-profile women, people would think it was normal.
24i dont think the two are related at all. hes done so much for cancer research and helped to raise so much money, who cares how many people he dates?
25They've both been dating others like crazy since they had their respective divorces. I think their equals in that respect.
26I'm agreeing with many above - what about his dating life makes him a playboy? He doesn't date any more than normal, and it's not like he's out dropping engagement rings in the laps of all his girlfriends. I think it's just unfortunate that people assume anything about anyone through photos - and all we really know of celebrities comes to us in just that way...or through the tabloids. Just imagine what sort of "reputation" you'd develop if the world could see the contents of your camera's memory stick after a fun and rowdy weekend...
27I think calling him a 'playboy' is generous. He has had a couple girlfriends...who cares?
28He would have to exciting, mysterious and handsome to be considered a playboy. He is none of those. I think people are put off by the way he handled his first marriage. He just conveys this sort of male desperation of having to serial date (aka bang) a slew of chicks. As far as Kate, she just embraces hippie vaginal freedom.
29I don't really care much for his love life. Never paid attention to it.
30Being a cancer survivor myself I was blown away by Lance and his story. His book is BEYOND inspiring. I refuse to comment on the "doping" rumors. They're just that...rumors...!
I will say though that Kate can't seem to commit...very sad considering she shuffles her kid between potential step-dads CONSTANTLY!! As for a coupling...they just look WIERD together! Doesn't work at all for me!!
31to be honest, i don't think that it hurts his reputation at all. his choices are a little interesting at times (i.e. the olsen) but being with sheryl crow and now kate hudson - those are two GREAT women.
32Lance is single and dating like any other single guy, and yeah less than 5 women in 4 years is NOT a Playboy. It's just a big deal because he and the ladies are celebs. The guy has been through so much in his life and is doing so much good for soooo many people, let the man have some fun for Pete's sake.
33I don't think he some great guy anyway so I don't think it's hurt his reputation with me. I haven't been fond of him since he left his wife who stuck with him through cancer and his child to date rockstars and actresses. I don't think that points to signs of good character, but that's my personal opinion. I'm glad that some people don't care about such stuff and are stillinspired by his story because I think he may be helping some truly worthwhile people
34I really respected him as a cancer survivor and athlete, but after dumping his ex-wife for Sheryl Crow, then going around dating any celebrity that would sleep with him, I'm disappointed. I thought Hollywood wouldn't phase him, but one ball or not, that man is still a dog.
35I agree SilverLining. I am more disappointed because i thought he was above the whole hollywood scene
36I think it damages the reputation of the girl who's with him (at the moment) more then his own reputation.
Same with John Mayer.
Simply because I'd expect them to be smarter then that!!
Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson look like little girls who fell too hard and the guys look like jerks taking them along for the ride. I don't know why - but all the pictures (of both couples) always look like the girl is trying harding then the guy (and that they care more). Obviously, I could be way wrong, that's just how I see the pictures.
37blah blah blah.... who cares?
38You must be joking. The news is that Lance Armstrong is hurting his reputation?! Impossible. The man has survived against all odds CANCER!! He dedicates his time and effort to a CURE FOR CANCER! If Lance wants to go out for a few beers with a beautiful and talented actress like Kate Hudson, who the Bleep are you to judge? Let him live his life, he's earned more than that!
39who cares... he deserves to have fun while doing good things..
40i can't believe that the fact he has gone out with different women would at all be an issue for his reputation. it's not like he's having one night stands with prostitutes.
his philanthropic work stands alone.
oh and it's true kate does look like her son without eye makeup.
41His reputation???
42Come on!! He took drugs!!
I certainly thought so, even before the NY article...there must be something to this. I just do not take him seriously anymore. He has kids for crying out loud. He should not be dating like he is a 17 year old boy, nor date people in that age range ( Hello Olsen twin).
43Yuck, he has no credibility for me for some reason anymore.
NYT articte sorry...
44It might. I think he dates celebs to keep his name out there. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that these women are gorgeous either.
45lance armstrong is a fraud!!!!! doping doping doping doping!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Lance to Landis: Inside the American Doping Controversy at the Tour de France at amazon
46Honestly, it is no ones business. However he has never been my hero and I have always liked her until I see her with him.
47Chris, Owen ,Dax ,Owen and Lance three days later....hmmm...They are meant for each other.............gross!!
48I don't mind a healthy single guy dating women he finds attractive.
I DO mind seeing a man's wife and children stand by him through cancer and negative press, only to get ditched as soon as he gets a taste of celebrity. That's not a man "living strong" to me.
