Despite early bad weather, the Glastonbury Festival rolled on this weekend with celebrity fans including Kate Moss and Kelly Osbourne out to see performers like John Mayer, Jay-Z and so many more. Amy Winehouse found a way to make new headlines with her despicable behavior including punching a fan in the middle of her performance — more on that and video over on UK Pop — and insulting Kanye on stage. On a brighter note, Jay-Z killed it as the headliner with Beyonce watching from the audience. After Noel Gallagher of Oasis made some disparaging comments about Jay headlining the festival, the rapper was under a lot of pressure to perform. Instead, he took the stage, guitar in hand, and started off his set by singing "Wonderwall" into "99 Problems." Amazing, check out the video below — so fun and the perfect way to win over some new fans overseas.

I saw Jay-Z and he knocked it out of the park. John Mayer was actually really good and won some new fans out here too I think! I missed Amy, but saw plenty of other good acts as well. Fab festival!
1lol pop doesnt know anything about glastobury, the weather was very good compared to the last 8 years
2glastonbury
3Wow, Kate Moss at a picnic table...so normal and cool. And Duffy looks adorable.
Wish I was there...
4that amy
5So happy about Jay-Z showing some of the racists posing as so called music purists ranting about a "rap" artist performing. You would not believe the anon's on some of the UK boards going bonkers about him coming but he showed the blokes something didn't he. Lov'n it.
6Didn't know Jay-Z played the guitar.
7He's not a guitar player per se. He is a musician-producer-songwriter and knowing which is up on an ax dont hurt when you are trying to create lol.
8i havent read the posts methinks is referring too but you have to understand jay-z is not well known here and to be headling the pyramid stage on the sat night, well you have to be. he wasnt plying the guitar its more a prop!!that kinda of music just doesnt suit the vibe of glastonbury, well being the main act.
9I can totally understand why people are upset about Jay Z being a headliner and it has nothing to do with racism. What would you say if Jay Z were to headline Woodstock or something. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't fit the genre.
10despicable behaviour? i'd also punch someone if they grabbed my hair / boobs.
11Lisa101, Jay-Z is not well known there? I don't think that's the case.
And as for him not suiting the genre, it's a massive festival with hundreds of acts performing, if they all fit into the one genre it would be quite the boring weekend. I think it's good that they're trying to broaden the spectrum of artists performing, I mean Kylie was supposed to play it the year she was diagnosed with cancer and nobody kicked up a fuss about that. If it was P Diddy or somebody I could understand the complaints but Jay-Z is in a different league to a lot of rappers and hip hop artists who are all image and no substance.
As for Noel Gallagher, really... he should just shut up. He's no longer capable of producing decent music so he tries desperately to keep himself relevant to the modern music scene by shooting his mouth off every chance he gets. It was old ten years ago, it's SO old now.

I totally agree, Kiki tee. I thought Jigga did a great job! It was so cool of him to open up with Wonderwall, given that I haven't made an effort to listen to that song since high school, lol!
13Noel Gallagher was, is and will always be an *sshole.
14Ahahhaaa! I love Jay-Z! And Noel Gallagher just wishes he was still relevant....
15amy makes me cringe, that video of her "singing" and i use that term lightly and hitting someone is disturbing, she is out of control.

17Noel Gallagher was never relevant. OASIS sucked.
18lilttle Amy is her blue strapless dress.cute !
19I wished I had been there.
Glasto is THE music festival.
i too dont like noel gallagher and he should shut up. and no jay-z has nowhere near the fame that he has in the us, hes not that popular here and rap is not appropriate for pyramid stage on sat night. thats my opinion
20now if it had been rage against the machine, thats hip hop i can get on board with
21my bro in law was iffy about jay-z but i told him he would be amazing and i am so jealous i wasn't there!!!!!!!!!!!!1argh.
22I think I rocked Kate Moss' ugly outfit back in the early 90's.
23Jay-Z is the greatest, and he is very well known in Europe lisa101..do you live under a rock or something?? and as for the Oasis losers.. ummm Oasis hasnt had a hit record since the days of Amy Winehouse being fat and crack-free..and yeah.. I definately COULD see Jigga headlining Woodstock..Hip Hop is the #1 form of music in the world right now..
24yes i live under a rock
25a rock band rock
26i'm always jealous when there are good shows like that in places other than where i live. i'm sure that it would have been great to see the drama first hand, but i guess it today's era, you can sort of see everything first hand.
27txlatina & lisa............those who aren't on the recieving end of an experience are always of the belief whats being claimed isn't happining. I'm not one to make up for effect anything, and as far as I knew before reading in not only about the uproar on UK blogs, I got an heart hurting wakeup call about how some of my beloved Ireland natives truly feel about blacks. Agian, if you aren't recieving it then of course it must all be in our minds. I get it don't worry.
28J was awesome... as for Amy, first of all, she's always horrible live but that was hysterical.
29yes horrible singer first of all -- talk about magic at the studio
and yes her tangerine rage was FUNNY
30noel gallager is a prat with a chip on his shoulder it seems about EVERYONE with talent, good for jz, wicked response lolol.
