Lauren Conrad looked gorgeous showing off a few sassy Summer outfits for a photoshoot with LA Direct Magazine. The California girl is just as sunny in her interview as she is in the photos, talking about her great year and how far she's come since her days on Laguna Beach. Here are highlights:
- “I always say this isn’t what I signed up for. I thought I signed up for a one-episode documentary."
- “I feel like [the show] makes me look like I sit around all day and feel sorry for myself, but I’m actually a very happy person. Sometimes I want to reach into the TV and smack myself, and say ‘get over it.’”
- “It’s been a crazy four years, but they’ve been amazing. I got to travel all around the world. I’ve met so many cool people. I’ve had all these opportunities. I’m really lucky. You got to take the good with the bad.”
Lauren has come a long way since those Laguna Beach days, but it's refreshing to hear her sound so grounded and humble. Plus, we love to hear that she's more upbeat than it sometimes seems on her show.

2I guess I'm a little older than her average fan, but I never watched Laguna Beach or the Hills. I have no idea what this girl is about. But every time I look at her, all I see is Marcia Brady. Please - someone explain. Does she go to college? Does she have a job? Is she trying to be an actress? I don't understand what she does or why she's relevant to anything. And is popsugar being paid by some publicist for the HIlls to post about her, Heidi, etc? Because it seems like every other post is about a Hills person. One of these days I'm going to watch a Hills marathon and figure out what is so friggin magical about this bunch.
3well i'm not sure if she was just dillusional when she started with the show- but oh well. and besides, she keeps signing on to do more and more, and she has the power to change how she acts so it's not like she really has anyone to blame but herself. i think that we all see that she's grown though, and that's the most important thing.
4well i love lauren, and think she looks gorgeous here! plus, i'd rather read about her then paris or lindsay or HEIDI any day!
mali01--she was on a show Laguna beach where the kids actually did nothing special--they were just in high school. then she went to college for a semester, came home and was still on laguna, and then moved to LA. that's when MTV started her own show, the hills. shes currently in fashion school there, but started her own line already, she used to work at teen vogue but now works at people's revolution as a stylist i think. i would much rather read about her then a lot of others because she actually works and goes to school...so it seems like shes doing something with her life!

6She looks good. But i do not understand how can she be angry about how is she represented on The hills - it's her show! She should do something about it or be quiet.
7She looks radiant in the yellow, just more beautiful everyday. She also seems grounded and humble in the interview. She really has no power on the show. The producers produce and direct the scenes that they want and then edit for drama.

15I love LC! I love that this show is helping her take second looks at herself. Not everyone gets that luxury and she seems very aware of her behavior and how it comes across. She's my fave reality star. Which is odd because I was always Team Kristen back in the LB days.

30i think she's quit smart unlike many other reality stars. she uses her exposure to get great jobs, push her brand, etc. i like her.

32Blah, she's so average and her clothes are made of cheap modal and she charges a fortune! Plus, I think she is the prudest girl on t.v. Realize that class doesn't mean you have to be boring or snub every guy that throws a bone your way. Plus, I mean she's been with some real "winners" too....hello JaWahl?!?! LOL!
