Here's the new Spears girl! As part of their ongoing deal, OK! Magazine has the first photos of Jamie Lynn and her baby daughter, Maddie Briann Aldridge. While it's still pretty surreal to see, Maddie is teeny tiny and so cute, and JL looks happy and serene holding her newborn. Here are some highlights from the interview:
- On Maddie: "She is very good. She'll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I'll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There's no screaming and crying."
- On her new life: "We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I've worked one out with her, and we're happy going about our little life."
- On Casey: "Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all. I was just talking to Casey. And you know what's so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, 'Yeah.' We were both so excited."
- On Maddie's birth: "They'd told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours. I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed."
Check out the issue on newsstands tomorrow to see the full photoshoot and read lots more from Jamie Lynn about life as a new mom. Now that the photos are finally out, are you more excited about Jamie Lynn and her baby?

hmmm, why the hell does jamie lynn look so old
1what is so special about this baby she looks like everyother new born, i agree jamie does look older
2must be nice not having to hold down a full-time job with the baby and everything...
3Yeah, I agree. What's up with the hair and make-up?
4Anyhow, congrats with the baby
Showing some support for Jamie Lynn before she gets viciously attacked here again
5at least shes happy... and the baby is cute:D
yeah and her hair color is a mess 2!
6Ehh....nothing special
7I think they purposely tried to age her for the shoot.
8"Now that the photos are finally out, are you more excited about Jamie Lynn as a mom?"
i wouldnt say "exicted" since she is underage..not being judgemental.
9Terrible job by the stylist!! She looks like an 80's county singer!
Baby Maddie...looks like a baby! They should have waited until she developed more...about 5 or six months
10she looks like she's in her 30s. air-brush gone bad. her hair looks grey
11but glad to hear she's settled in to her new mom role
Yes joann, God knows she won't survive unless someone supports Jamielynn, here in cyberspace where she couldn't care less if we lived or died....
Anyway, honestly I think she looks cute and kind of retro (she looks to me like she's channeling the 60's), but I like the retro look for pretty much everything so there you go
12*excited
13Is she wearing a wig? a bad one!
The baby is cute.
14Or they could have at least dressed the baby a little cuter. Maybe a headband or something?!?! For her first photo-op it's not going so well.
Don't they know they've got to get her portfolio together so the "pimping" can begin ASAP
15no one is bashing her, im glad she made the right decision for herself, and didnt worry what other people or the media may think of her
16What's with the grey hair?
17no kidding sporky
18I just think it's so irresponsible to promote this girl in any way. No matter how you look at it, children having children is not OK and putting her in the limelight just glorifies it!
19Oh stop it, noone's even attacking her.
I think the baby looks like an alien, like all newborns do. LOL. I think Jamie Lynn looks cute in this pic.
I also think its hilarious that the only quote they got from Casey (Bubba can you hear dem Banjos) Aldridge is "yeah"
LOL - yeah, he doesnt come off as the intellect, does he?
20Girlfriend needs a TONER pronto on that ashy hair. But yes, the baby is cute. Much cuter than.... oh never mind.
Who wouldn't enjoy being a mom at that age? Sure beats algebra! Maybe we need to rethink our entire society.
21this world is going to hell... how is it that the world is ok with a 15 year old getting pregnant? no wonder why little girls are getting preggo all over the place.. it is because of sh*t like this. i think jamie is a bad influence for all little girls out there. get ready world.. we are going to have mom's who are 30 and their daughters are 20.
22I think her and the baby look cute and I wish them the best of luck
23pink, seriously, some people act like we're discussing their kids on here. They don't know and don't care.
Hahaha Alisha (as usual). SQUEAL like a pig!
24Wouldn't it be funny if that were all he ever said? "yeah. Yeah!"
Like Matt Damon in Team America
How long should she live in exile? No matter what or how old she gets, she will still have gotten pregnant at 16 and had a baby at 17.
If she accepts the responsibility and is a good mom, what is the issue? No one is promoting teen pregnancy but she did and the baby is here...it's time to let it go and allow her status as a role model to be reprised. She can speak out about teen sex and pregnancy and be a GOOD example to young girls THAT ALREADY HAVE CHILDREN or that are too hardheaded to listen and end up in the same boat
25I'm not gonna say that it's appropriate for an underage person to have a child but it happens. This is hardly promoting her. This is hardly glamorizing having a child at 16. But I think its good that its out there rather than she being ostracized from society. That's a worse message than showing a girl taking responsibility for her actions and showing, hey look, I have a child. And now I have gray hair.
26Cute. But this pic looks so 1950s housewife.
27photoshop, much??
28I think its semi-irresponsible of OK mag to put all her puff quotes in their story "perfect angel, easy pregnancy and delivery, i love our little life, everythings wonderful"
Great. So other teens can think "hmm, Jamie Lynn's was easy enough, it might not be so bad"
I'm uber glad she decided to have the baby and take responsibility for her actions, but you'd think she'd want to really tell it like it is, sleepless nights, excruciating pain, fear and anxiety, endless baby cries, pooping all the time...
29but no, they make it a puff piece.
Sprky, when the issues of babies come up people get so sensitive. YES BABIES CAN BE UGLY!! It's a fact of life...
Like I always say..Where do ugly adults come from? ...Ugly babies
People get so sensitive...It's not like I am gonna run up to a kid in the park and tell them they are ugly..at least not again, that mom hit very hard..
30umm, on the quote "being a mom is the best feeling in the world' yeah WHEN UR NOT 16. oh my. baby is cute, just another Spears. I feel for Maddie, im not gonna be all happy about a teen celeb teaching kids an even netter example.....ugh.
31*Better
32"hey look, I have a child. And now I have gray hair."
33LOL!
I guess I missed that message on the cover! Thats hilarious.
good point brian
34wakeuppandora, sometimes it IS like that. I had ONE sleepless night with my daughter and that was when she was under a week old...
Pregnancy and delivery was a cake walk. I had an easy recovery and I lost the baby weight rather quickly...
If her child is easy (so far), should she lie?
I joke constantly that my next will be hell on earth b/c my first was so easy
35It's good that she is happy and that she and the baby are doing well. It's really too late to lament about her being pregnant and a mom at such a young age.
But, no doubt some teenagers will see this and think it is easy to have a newborn and have everything be all easy and fun -- when, for most teenagers, it would be very hard financially and perhaps also emotionally.
36Sporks, seriously - we're twins. LOL @ "squeal like a pig"!!
Oh, you crack me up.
And Jaxon, Im with you. Noone here has said "get pregnant as a 15 year old" - people are still looking to crucify her.
Aso, are we forgetting that teenage pregnancy has happened since the dawn of time? There's nothing new here. Girls were being sent away to unwed mothers homes to save the family the embarassment and the children were adopted out. At least this baby gets to stay with her mom. Kudos to her for stepping up to the plate.
37ok how is any celebrity a role model, why people allow their children to look up to celebs as role models is beyond me first off, parenting and role modeling starts at home, this baffles me when people say this, talk to your children be a parent teach them about std'd and pregnancy and they wont need to look up to jamielynn
38Kudos and a golf clap to you Brian...
...You cant change the AVI without telling me I did not even recognize you..
You know Brian I think we are becoming "Spearsoloonies", it seems we are always in their corner...WHAT THE?!?!
39Um what is the "Frosting" hell happened to her hair?
40"But, no doubt some teenagers will see this and think it is easy to have a newborn and have everything be all easy and fun -- when, for most teenagers, it would be very hard financially and perhaps also emotionally."
agree

agree also
41By the way, I was being sarcastic about rethinking our society. And I'm with the people who think this is promoting teen pregnancy. No one is saying she needs to be voted off the island (at least I'm not) - but she doesn't need to be plastered all over magazine covers like this one. You know how impressionable teenage girls are. In fact, we're all pretty impressionable no matter what age we are - advertising agencies depend on it. The fact is Jamie Lynn Spears is getting way more attention since the pregnancy than she ever did before. This is not lost on teenage girls - who crave attention usually. Also, putting this on the magazine cover in this way suggests that we as a society condone teen pregnancy and teen motherhood. And the fact is that we need to decide whether or not we want to condone this. This would have been shameful in the past, and she would have disappeared until it was over. It would have ruined her career in the past. But now, we need to decide whether we want our teenage women to be focused on children or on education. Because you can't be 100% focused on two things. Plus, where would the average teenage girl get the money to raise a child?? This is sending a message to teenage girls, and you can't deny that.

LMFAO
43Jaxon and Alisha -
:)
I agree with pink, parents need to not have the celebs do the parenting for them, THEY need to set the example.
44pink, i think you are correct. Its a horrible thing to allow anyone to idealize or idolize a celebrity. they make horrible role models.
45BUT
since she is in the limelight ALL the time, you think she'd try to be honest and concerned about how her status as a role model will effect other girls, or boys, whatever - no matter how easy her pregnancy, delivery and baby are to handle. This is not how it is in real life for most people, especially teens.
PinkP, I agree with you, but unfortunately parents are allowing their kids to worship and emulate celebs..so whether they (or we) like it or not celebrities have become "role models"
46Um what IN the "Frosting" hell happened to her hair? I swear I can complete a sentence.
47It's totally irresponsible of OK magazine to show a pic of a teen mother with her baby and the tagline, "being a mother is the best feeling in the world". For crying out loud, the whole article sounds like a freaking fairy tale, with little baths, feedings where baby doesn't cry or scream, and the cute little routines. This is terrible.
48Jamie Lynn's hair looks grey in that photo and Maddie looks just like any other newborn.
She seems to be handling being a mom so young really well!!!! But she looks a litlle older than 17 in the pic!
49Anyhow, Congrats to Jamie-Lynn, Casey & baby Maddie!
congrats to her again.
