Christina Aguilera's much talked about Rock the Vote ad premiered yesterday and exactly as advertised it features her tender singing with a flag-swaddled Max in her arms. On Larry King Live last month, Christina talked about how her spot was inspired my Madonna's Rock the Vote ad from 1990, which has a decidedly different feel but the same ultimate message. Check them both out below and let us know — which Rock the Vote ad wins, new Christina Aguilera or vintage Madonna?
love them both. christina's makes me tear up a little and madonna's makes me nostalgic for the simple 90's (when i was 7 with at least 5 madonna posters in my room)
I'm a huge Madonna fan but this one definitely goes to Christina. I will have to say if Madonna created a new one, I'm sure it would be MUCH different from her old one. Or at least I would
hope
Wow. I have to say Christina hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I'm sure she wasn't the one that came up with the concept, but the ad got me so teary-eyed. Beautiful and understated
but such a powerful message. Kudos to her.
Definitely Christina's... But it would've been even more powerful if she wouldn't say anything after she stops singing. That kind of breaks the effect.
Christina! I love how everyone was all upset that she has that sweet baby wrapped in the flag but no one cares that Madonna has her skanky body wrapped in one.
That Madonna ad certainly is vintage. That's when she still knew she was an American. Wonder if she does Rock The Vote ads in England now with her British accent.
I really like them both for different reasons. Right now the Christina Aguilera one goes perfect. A young mother comforting her baby singing a song about America. The state of our nation. It
just seems so right now and current. However the Madonna Video was perfect for the 90's. It was the height of the gay activism and one of the first few times we saw openly gay males on TV.
The 90's was all about sexuality, activism, sex, and awareness. Both caught my attention as a kid and as an adult. " Power to people is as good as Sex".
both are horrible, (what's with the child in the flag? gee) i'd like to know how many people actually go to the polls because of seeing this
but props to madonna for keeping it funny at least
Christina's is definetly better because it is soo sweet and innocent but its really powerful! I just loved it, it made me tear up a bit because it was sooo sweet!
I found Madonna's ad disrespectful to the leaders of our country and it looked like she didn't even care!
Christina's is beautiful and sweet, and it moved me. Maybe it will move young mothers who realize that they need to vote to make this country and this world the best place possible for their
little ones to grow up in.
I love both. Both videos reflect their different personalities and talent. And it was done well.
Christina: Her voice is a gift from God. I was deeply moved by her voice, too. She sang a capella, no less. Her voice was so beautiful, she did not need music. Wow.
Madonna: Sassy, sassy, sassy. And with her gays dancing in the background. Classic Madonna. I love it.
I don't like either. Sure, Christina sounds lovely, but I'm really bothered by how she says "It's time to make history, it's time to Rock the Vote." To me, she's saying "It's time to vote for
Obama," when the message is supposed to be "we don't care who you vote for, just vote."
Simpler times! The world was very different when Madonna did hers, and it was quite brave and cool having obviously gay dancers in it with her. Christina's is sweet and touching, with her
little baby, and very 00s. But Madonna takes it, I think.
Christina! So moving, so beautiful. Madonna almost seemed like she was making a mockery of it. I love Madonna, but it didn't seem to me like it was taken seriously, and the right to vote is
something that should always be taken seriously.
christina's was so beautiful, like she is realizing these thing will affect her child but madonnas was so stupid she was laughing in the middle singing
Christina's has heart and full of symbolism. Like I said with another post on this site, this represents the future of America. Madonna's is just annoying... but it was a different time,
where America was annoying haha!

To comment on Austindragonfly's response.... Every time there is an election we make history. This ad did not endorse any candidate. But for the record I'm for Obama!!! But reguardless
History is made from the moment we wrote the Constitution that gave us the right to vote... to NOW! What we do now affects the future. We are making the history for our children.

Kate Moss was all smiles leaving the SingStar Take That Extravaganza in London. She took a casual approach to the night, opting for patent leather flats and mismatched blacks.

5i saw the ad, and i doubt that it'll make me want to vote any more -but i thought that it was 'lovely'
6love them both. christina's makes me tear up a little and madonna's makes me nostalgic for the simple 90's (when i was 7 with at least 5 madonna posters in my room)
7Yay for Christina and her baby, much more natural. Madonna's somewhat annoying^^
8The Madonna one doesn't seem to be taking it seriously...which is counterproductive, no?
9Where's my neither choice?!
10I'm a huge Madonna fan but this one definitely goes to Christina. I will have to say if Madonna created a new one, I'm sure it would be MUCH different from her old one. Or at least I would hope

12neither. one was boring and one was just plain awful
13Definitely Christina's... But it would've been even more powerful if she wouldn't say anything after she stops singing. That kind of breaks the effect.
14How does Xtina have more votes than Madonna?!
15Christina but I can barely understand any of the words she sings.
16i picked Christina cause her voice is so sweet and beautiful and made me so close to tears..
17madonna is beyond obnoxious in that video. her face sure has changed
18Christina hands down.
Im just wishing Madonna and all talks of Madonna would go away. She's trash.
19Wow - Christina gave me chills and even tear up a bit. So beautiful
20Christina! I love how everyone was all upset that she has that sweet baby wrapped in the flag but no one cares that Madonna has her skanky body wrapped in one.
21it is sad how madonna's is so hipocritical.

25I liked them both, christina sings soo beautifully and madonna's was really cool and orginial.
26Madonna's was tasteless. Christina's voice is amazing, but I don't think that ad will make anyone want to vote apart from her fans.
27Who cares option?
28neither of them would make go and vote, what would make me go and vote, is what this world turning into.
but i still chose CHRISTINA, because that was just BEAUTIFUL.

38Aww I love Christina's ad. It was so sweet and simple, but it was very powerful.
39Christina's = beautiful & classy
40Madonna's = trashy
