ICYMI, the Jolie-Pitt twins — a boy and a girl Knox and Vivienne — were born Saturday in Nice, France. While we've yet to see any members of the now eight person family, both Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice and Dr. Michel Sussmann, who performed the C section, are more than happy to talk. The mayor visited the hospital to officially sign the twin's birth certificates, telling the press that it is "a pride to Nice and all its citizens." In a press conference Dr. Sussmann described the birth:
- On the birth: "[Angelina and Brad] were talking, they were together...It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy."
- On Brad's role: "He was my assistant!" Sussmann said jokingly – and even cut the babies' umbilical cords. "He was ... perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional."
- On when Angelina will go home: "I don't know...She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn't like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay."
- On the babies overall: "The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine." Asked whether the birth had been a textbook delivery, Sussmann replied, "absolutely no problems."
Needless to say, we can't wait to see little Knox and Vivienne, but we're happy to hear that it all went well welcoming the two new Jolie-Pitts into the world!

Now That Angelina Jolie Has Given Birth, Who Are the Winners and Losers of Her Pregnancy Saga?

The entertainment press is already fighting with each other over who got the story right. Bauer’s In Touch, which has devoted what seems like every other cover to another Brangelina headline, is claiming the exclusive, being the first to report the news accurately ahead of any other news outlet. That In Touch’s website first reported Jolie gave birth to “twin girls,” then recanted that part of the story, might be of material interest to on-lookers. The magazine, however, will point out that six months ago it reported Jolie was pregnant with both a boy and a girl. (Previously, Star and OK! had reported Jolie was carrying two girls.)
After In Touch posted its report online, Us Weekly quickly “me too’d” with a “confirmation” that Jolie had given birth with its own website article. Then Extra, which had also posted online with the news, recanted its report, leading Us to also pull its story.
It wasn’t long before People posted the “exclusive” news on its website, though its source was Jolie’s doc, Michael Sussmann, who released a statement to the press at large, not just People. So its “exclusive” news wasn’t so much exclusive as it was simply stamped that way.
But once People pushed the story, the other hangers on followed suit; Us and Extra had their stories back online thereafter.

I am just wowed by emotions Brad and Angelina bring out in people, my self included. Congrats to them again on their twins. We didnt have to see the birth certif to believe that the children were infact born. Dont need the details of the birth either. I dunno, I believe things like that should be private.
I understand their need to put out some information quickly at times due to the fact that there are some creeps out there that will stop at nothing to get it but this is a little scary.
In any case I love this fam, congrats again.
13Yay! I was really excited to read this news for some reason and I can't wait to see those grow up. I'm sure they will be stunners like little Shiloh. Knox is really cool name, kind of futuristic. I've never heard it before as a name, but I think it works! Vivienne is a pretty, old-fashioned name. Congrats to the power couple!
