Yes, too harsh! I know I'm in the total minority who likes both Katherine AND her character on Grey's, so nobody cares what I have to say, but it would pain me if she were to leave.

I liked her on Roswell a zillion years ago, but I really couldn't care less if she's on Grey's or not...the show will still be great without her and killing her off...GREAT STORYLINE!!

The show will suffer if he character is killed off. It has already begun to suck anyhow, and the writer's strike hurt it with the hiatus. I don't care if she smokes, but her Emmy comments were unnecessary. I'll prolly still watch Grey's if they do kill her off, but it'll be like ER after Julianna Margulies left.

I would care if she got killed off--she is one of the reasons I watch the show. And who cares if she wanted her name off the list--we should respect her more that she did that not make fun of her or dislike her.

I actually think the show will be better off if her character were killed off. She doesn't bring anything to the show (not like she did in the first 2 seasons), now she's just this whiney blond blob and a kill off would make her gone permanently, which seems like an EXCELLENT idea from my view.

I think they should just give her the WORST story lines ever and make her suffer through her contract. You know she is saying all this to get out of her contract since she considers herself "A" list now.

I think she is shooting herself in the foot...she is a mediocre actor and being difficult and whiny will not win her any parts. Once she is off Grey's she will be forgotten. I have to say I am in favor of killing her off...but I really like the bad storyline idea too.

Truthfully, I used to give Katherine Heigl credit for making me dislike Izzie so much. It takes a capable actor to make you dislike a character, but realize they are actually such a nice person...HOWEVER...I found out that NO Katherine Heigl is just as whiny and insufferable as her character...UGH!!!!

Oh Brilliant Gelita. I don't like that she was ungrateful to the writers...and she bad mouthed knocke up saying it was sexist. This is the movie that made her famous! This is the movie about a woman who didn't want to marry a man JUST because she was pregant, a woman who had a good career and continued it and ended up with him because she found out she loved him. Then after voicing her opions about 'sexism" she went to maek 27 dresses...about a woman stupidly in love and obssesed with a man who doesn't love her..stabs her own sister in the back and all she can think and care about is wedddings and life is perfect once you get married...how antifeminist and sterotypical of women is that?! Boo don't like her...

Hahah, Lauren...her trying to save the deer was insane. With the reference to Bambi. I used to love Izzie, but her story lines were awful last season. I mean, if I were her I wouldn't have said what she did, but I can't really blame her that much either. At this point, I wouldn't be too sad to see her character go. And I agree with the poster that wants Burke back. Sure the actor seems like a jerk, but his character was so good!

She reminds me of the characters (with the exception of George Clooney) who left ER and did not find the success they talked so much about.

With the earlier comments, I now find it too hard to separate Izzy Stevens and Katherine Heigl. Her character off screen has affected her on screen character and I think it is that way for a lot of people.

Now, I understand that killing off Grey would leave the show...well without its title character, and she IS a character I sorta love to hate, but seriously, outta the 2 Izzie's really not the most annoying one to me.

I can't see her lasting longer than 10 minutes on the treadmill because of all the smoking she does. But I like her and I do like Izzie... I don't want her character to leave, but then again I'm getting kind of over Grey's anyway.

I am so over Meredith too. However, luckily I can separate the on screen personality from the off screen. The person I liked the best was Addison, however I cannot wait Private Practice.

I don't watch the show so I couldn't care less if they kill her character. I don't like her because she keeps bashing every movie she does. Seriously if she doesn't like the material then why do the movie?? I also hated the way she blamed the writers of the show for her decision to drop out of the Emmys. She could have taken herself from the competition WITHOUT giving any explanations. If she has a problem with the writers she should discuss that with them personally.

I love her no matter what she says so if they decide to kill her off I think it would only be good for her because the show is on a downward spiral anyway. She's really the only reason I've stayed watching this long.

The writers should kill her off in the slowest, grossest most agonizing way possible. That way, those of us that don't like her can take joy in knowing that she's not being let out of her contract and she's miserable at work everyday.

I don't think killing off Izzie would be harsh at all . . . I actually think that she deserves that because then she would be gone off of Grey's and the writer's wouldn't have to work with her again. The only thing that I wouldn't like about that is that I wanted Alex and Izzie to be together again (and they were making a lot of movement toward that lately). Other than that, I don't think I'd miss her on the show because she hasn't been contributing that much lately. And as for her excuse for her poor performance, a good actor could take any kind of script and make it good and worthwhile.

Grey's is already going downhill, it use to be the best of the best but I've grown tired of some of the characters - on screen and off. Izzie and Katherine being at the top of my list. Despite how much I detest the character and the person, if she goes, it's one more core character that I don't think Grey's would recover from.

Doesn't smoking make it really difficult to work out? I've always wondered how something so damaging to your lungs can allow you to breathe properly when you exercise.
