Jessica Simpson performed her first full concert in 3 years over the weekend at the 16th Annual Country Thunder USA in Twin Lakes, WI. Just like in her new video she showed off those famous legs and familiar pipes singing a range of covers, a few of the tracks from her upcoming album and even an old favorite like "With You." Tony Romo was out to support his girlfriend, which hopefully will keep that big grin on her face despite the first review out being not so stellar. In fact, the local paper basically tore her to pieces. Jessica's no stranger to dealing with bad press, but hopefully that won't stop her from keeping on trying to win over the hearts of all those country fans.

2I honestly don't see why people don't like her. Her voice has always been more suited to country. She's not a particularly 'mean' girl, and she sings well when she's not doing theatrics...

4I heard in the news this morning that she was booed during her performance. I'm not a fan but I'm thinking this country album will probably be her best selling. Let's hope that all the songs are as good as come on over. I hate albums that only have one song worth listening to.

6well i'm not a fan of hers really - never have been but i guess as long as she's getting back out there - then it's a good thing for her. she hasn't done anything in such a long time that it's just getting tiresome seeing her wander around the world and vacationing. i hope that this album does better than her others, but i have a feeling that the country fans may not take to her as quickly as she'd like. they already have their golden girls.

17This is such a shame. She's got a great country voice, I really like her song "come on over". I've been a country fan my whole life, and I cannot BELIEVE some of the reviews of the concert I'm hearing. Country fans are usually so much warmer than this. I'm actually ashamed right now to be a country fan if this is how they treat a new country artist.

She's wearing 3 shirts, it looks like a tank top, then another white top, then the plaid. As an ex fan, I love the fact that she was booed. I heard that she dissed Nick and accused him of cheating. What a hypocrite.

And how convenient that she's from Texas now that she's releasing a country album. She hasn't lived in Texas in 20 years. I'm glad Kenosha has the sense to see her for what she is. 37This girl has no real personality of her own and I can't stand her singing voice, no matter what she is singing. She annoys me so much. She is one of my top 5 most hated celebrities. I will have to think about the other 4. She is #1.

39Wow, that must sting to again be relegated to an opening act- and not even on an arena tour or for a major country music star. Fleurfairy, you hit the nail on the head about her changing identities to match her current boyfriend. She does seem to be one of those woman who can only find her identity through a man in her life- starting with her whole "Daddy's Girl" thing. When she doesn't have a boyfriend, we always see the reemergence of Ken Paves as her "stand in man."
As for why people don't like her- unfortunately, she has made many career mistakes that have led people to believe she is talentless and relies on her "assets" (as flaunted in the "These Boots Are Made for Walking" video) to keep her in the spotlight. Exhibit A: the part in DOH where she drawls, "I think sompin bounced up into my UNDAH-carrudge!" I will take nails scraping a blackboard over that any day.
40I don't think she is trying to be Carrie- They are nothing alike. Jessica has her own distinct personality which is nothing like Carries.
I just read a review on theseBootsaremadeforstalking dot com, which says that there wasn't any booing. they are very clear about that and posted some videos on youtube which show that the crowd were enjoying her show.

Her song is already dropping on the country charts, I don't think it even made top 20. She'll pretend that's a success, like her "independant" movies were, she said. But its not, she's massively famous with huge airplay but still can't sell, its a failure. The booeing here confirmed it. I can't wait for her attempt to rap, or maybe she'll start dating that douche Paris Hilton is with after they break up, then she can try emo, ha!
42See that is what I just don't understand. Some people hate so much they (I think) make up stuff purposefully. Her single is doing very week -rising since it's debut and has just cracked the top 20 today (or yesterday). She has got a message of thanks on her website. It is at #18.
That is the thing a lot of the negative 'news' about Jessica is just a load of crap made up by people who don't like her. That is just so sad and desperate to me.
I can understand not liking a particular celebrity but to go out of your way to say things that blatantly isn't true .... -sigh-

44Wow, actually a Jessica post where the good comments may outweigh the bad! I think she looks adorable here. I used to be a huge fan of hers, and it's died down these past few years. But I still like her and want to support her, and although I'm not a fan of country, I think her new song is great and her CD will do decent.

46Its nice that Jessica seems happy and healthy, but it seems like her career is going nowhere. Her new song is alright, but she doesn't even sound country! I miss the Jessica on Newlyweds, before she unceremoniously dumped Nick (who I am not a big fan of either, but I liked them together).
