Wow, um, that was quick -- less than a week after Pax Thien's adoption into the Jolie-Pitt family, we have our first official magazine cover of mother and child. Although I honestly didn't think photos would come this quickly, I'm trying to be understanding of Angelina's intentions (selling -- presumably to charity -- the pictures so people don't harass the family for them as much) in doing this. Rumor has it that People/Hello paid in the $2 million ballpark for the photoshoot of Angelina, Pax, Maddox and Zahara. Brad and Shiloh remained at home while the pictures were taken in Vietnam. We will have more from the interview shortly, but in the meantime Angie describes her new son as a "very sweet little boy." Well, he is certainly cute!
We hate to have disclaimers every Jolie-Pitt post, but please try not to attack each other in the comments. Thanks, guys!

1I think it's absolutely wonderful that Angelina feels compelled to adopt children. It brings awareness to an issue that can be overlooked. I think if she plans on adopting another child she should look into adopting a child from the United States who may be just as unfortunate as her other children. That being said, Pax is adorable!

6i feel for that child. he's adopted without warning, renamed, he's about to leave his homeland and less than a week after being adopted he's thrust into a media spotlight so his parents can generate some positive publicity. adopt, yes, but focus on getting the child settled and his welfare first.
7I'm glad she did a photo shoots before going back to the State. This will help lessen the demand on Pax's pics in LA, so that little Pax would be left alone to adjust and get some peace. The public demand the pics, so I'm not surprise if People purchased the right and the money goes to charity. Hey, it benefits both People mag. and the organizations for charities. Great move Angie. I can't wait to see the rest of the pics and who care about the haters.
8imac adict, I think Angie doesn't want Shiloh to overshadow her brother, Pax. She did this to all her children. On Shiloh's photo shoots, Maddox wasn't included, same as Zahara's shoots in Africa.
To all who think Angie did this for publicity. Well, if she doesn't the same problems occurred in Vietnam where the papps were knocking on the car doors, underneath the car, at the windows, and trying to open the door to prevent the car from leaving, it would be 100x worse in LA.
Angie has the right to control the image and to protect her son.

10OKAY I HAVE COMPLETELY LOST A LOT OF RESPECT FOR HER!!!!! I was critical of the old HELLO issue (which she showed the entire Benetton family to the world in Cambodia) now she's done it again. You know I thought the Newsweek was super cool but now sorry she's just a media wh*re like someone has already mentioned above. She was apologectic in Vietnam about bringing publicity to this little boy's life and now she's done a deal to put him on HELLO (for good cause I'm sure..sorry but they have the money to donate without having to do this!). Angelina is nothing but a vain superstar! Same goes with her partner!

17That's a gorgeous cover. Because she's Angelina Jolie she can't win with some people, but that's fine. I'm just not sure why these people waste time on her.
18I tend to be cynical like ANDAMAN. It's people who do charitable acts without seeking publicity that deserve respect. This is too much about "look at me, aren't I a good person? These children could have conceivably grown up to be leaders of their countries and now in all likelihood they'll grow up to be spoiled Hollywood brats a la Paris Hilton. Does wealth and privilege automaticaly equal happiness? Not necessarily. They'll get the necessities of life and then some. But look at the baggage they'll have to haul around, especially when Brad splits ..... which he will eventually.
19Call her all the names you want, Angelina is smarter than most, and although she knows these pictures won't completely stop the paps, she is aware they will lower the price for any pic's they do get, and so the chase for them might be slowed. People who choose not to let their hate for her overshadow the fact that the tabs ARE gunning for pic's know this too. She got the photos out of the way, and in the process made collected seven figures that will more than likely be going to various charities in Vietnam.
20Edwinalovely what do you mean? I don't recall "not" speaking my mind about bragelina. If you read my old posts properly you will find I always have been very cynical about the media circus. I have always been vocal about this HELLO thing (since the last issue when the Benetton family images suddenly appeared when the Good Sheperd and Babel were out). They did that to promote the box office taking.

23playsindirt, anyone helping anybody deserves respect, and if it were anyone else, I think from you and more it would be forthcoming. I don't get why people just don't say that it's WHO'S doing it that bothers them so much instead of this constant bull about being appalled at the methods. Why should it matter that she's seen and heard? Do you think the people on the recieving end have an issue with it? I don't think so, and if asked, I bet they'd wish more would be as visable in their altrusim so others may also be more aware. It's amazing how more time seems to be spent on criticizing Angelina Jolie than there is on the the people and situations she brings attention to.

26It's about 8:30am in Good ole New York. And I log in and WHAM! first post of the day (for me at least) is AJ! And already 20 something posts. Let the circus begin. I know I know guys. I like her I feel her methods work for her and her family. And i know some of you guys don't' agree with it. But hey she will do what she will. Those kids have a better chance of being loved and cared for with them than without them. More people are AWARE of the situation in certain countries because of them. It's the same thing i keep saying. Sorry to sound redundant. 43im glad she gave the pics so soon. she realizes how crazy paps get when they are trying to score the FIRST pic of the new child. she is not doing this for press or for "good publicity" she is doing this so that her child isnt in harms way just so some dumb person can get that first pic. angelina isnt stupid, she knows she is going to be put in a negative light either way, this way the pics were under her own terms where she can give the money to a charity if she chooses and not so that she is harassed and hounded until someone makes money off of her. so is it wrong that she did this to make money to give to a charity? no. is it wrong that other people are harassing celebs in such a dangerous way just to get the shot noone else has? yes. so i applaud her for doing this her way and getting it out there. yes pax is thrust into the spotlight. yes he is going to be part of a media frenzy. this is stuff that came with his being adopted by a high profile family. angelina knew this. she still adopted him because she wanted to take care of him. she fell in love with this little boy when she saw him and he touched her heart so she wants to give him a life he wasnt offered at birth. good for her and good for him. shame on the people that are bashing her for this. its sad that such a person can cause so much hatred by simple minds. oh well. to each their own, but i am thankful she had the courage even though she knew there would be a backlash to get her photoshoot on her terms, to avoid the people who would put her family in harms way so they could leach off of her name.
44I am so on the fence with this whole Angie/Brad/children thing. On one hand I admire both of them for their charity work and their compassion to help others. On the other hand she contradicts herself so often that her motives are questionable. For example...she announced last week that she was taking time off work so that she can keep Pax out of the spotlight. However, here she is on the front cover of a major magazine AND is signing up for a movie which starts filming in May. And the rumoured 2 million dollars she is to donate to Paxs' homeland...well...no doubt that will be the 2 million dollars from Hello magazine. I'm just sayin...
