I was just getting into the groove of embracing the Cruise family, thanks mostly to Suri's cuteness, in all its inherent quirkiness (that is the word I'm using, yes), but the latest issue of Us Weekly is saying that all is not happy in the actors' household. The story claims, among other things, that Tom's controlling ways are getting to Katie, driving her to tearful late night calls with her good friend Posh.
Apparently, the Beckhams have their own set of gripes about Tom, stemming from his aggressively urging the couple to join Scientology when they move to the states. This isn't the first time that Tom has pressured David and Victoria to study the religion, but, if this Us article is to be believed, Tom's actions are bordering on scary. Says a source, "Not too long ago, Tom left 18 messages in one hour to get them to join the church."
While this sounds like a bit of an exaggeration on someone's part, Tom is obviously a driven and determined man. Hopefully, though, he can shift his focus from converting his good friends and instead just excel at the one thing we really want him to get back to -- his movie career. Considering he's got some exciting new projects in the works, that shouldn't be too hard of a request.

That makes Tom sound so creepy! I don't really believe the whole thing. I think it probably stems from some sort of truth because I do think he's a little nuts, but I doubt its that bad.

3Though US Weekly isn't the most reputable source, it's clear in recent photos that Katie is not happy and looks very subdued. Tom's hero, L.Ron Hubbard, is well known to have been a major control freak and wife abuser, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit it there was some truth to these Tom/Kat rumors. It makes me very scared for her.

35When Pop posted these pictures before, I commented that the zoned out stares on Tom and Katie were the most genuine expressions I had seen on them in a long time. They have a little baby now (who we've seen is quite mobile these days) and she's got to be draining all their energy. And youth basketball just isn't that exciting.
I also find it hard to feel badly for Katie since I know she went into this with the expectation that in exchange for being with him, he would help her build her career like he did with Nicole and Penelope. Granted, he may be a little more controlling than she expected, but she signed up for it. And we've seen that she really lets him (and Posh, for that matter) dictate her every move without even trying to do things on her own. What she needs is to have some damn self confidence and just trust her instincts abut what do to next. She was well liked before and she will be again, she just needs to believe in herself.

Uuuh look back at the recent phots and look at the body language. If you notice Katie is always clutching Suri(except in certain photos where the GMD knew the paps were around) like a life jacket. There is tension in the way they hold their bodies and they really don't look like a couple in love I mean it was like 3 months ago whech others tongues down each others throats dude child or no child when the zing is there it's there.

This article is so typical of Us Weekly. They know the biggest story of the week is Angelina and Pax, and there's no way their blurry paparazzi pictures can compete with People's pictures, no matter how sensational they're trying to make the adoption sound. (exhibit A: The State of Angelina polls in their website) So they turn to the next high profile celebrity couple. We have new pictures of the Cruises looking not-so-happy? Okay, let's run with that!

41Wow, too many of you are actually taking this US magazine article seriously! They are just trying to start up drama..the whole thing is grossly exagerrated..that's their job..pathetic as that is. Seriously, those headlines are the article's contents are really far-fetched..whether or not it's hard being married to Tom Cruise for her, I really feel that US is making it sound a lot worse than it is. As if she'd tell them anything about her marriage anyway. All they can do is make things up then to get people interested. And they purposely obviously find a photo where she isn't smiling to use to make their point. With as much papparazzi as they must get, it's easy to probably have many photos where you're not smiling.
42And in response to some other comments..whether they have PDA or less PDA..people will still complain about them..so doesn't look like they can win there. It just seems like a lot of people are against them as a couple, which is sad, because that's her family. I too find it weird that she always seems to say the same things in her interviews..just the same gushing of how everything is perfect, lovely, and fine..but I feel bad that she has so many people rooting against her and her husband and making all these weird theories about her baby (the extremely adorable Suri!). That has to be really irritating. But anyway, with so much papparazzi, there is just no way she's going to keep smiling and giving them photos they want so to support their story, obviously US is using whatever 'less happy looking' pictures they can.
