Nick Lachey is at it again. And by "it" I mean "recording a solo album at a studio in Burbank." This time around, though, Nick is going for something a little lighter than his achy heartbreak ballad album, What's Left of Me. For his next effort Nick is teaming up with the Underdogs, the production team behind the Dreamgirls music, to create his new sound. I somehow doubt that he'll be singing showtunes (unfortunate, I know), but the Underdogs did say it would involve "big, huge chroruses" and "a message-type of song with good lyrics." Wow, uh, sounds...booming and heart-warming. Wait a minute, perhaps it will be showtuney after all.

Oh Yeah? The BIG chroruses and good lyrics you say!
How interesting.
He couldn't make a cd when he was with Jess, Nor could he make one after they got divorced. What makes him think it's going to be different this time around?
Did he suddenly have a lightbulb go off and say to him self.. OH MY GOD.
1I've got more teeny bopper crap to sing about! Let's go to the studio!
Even the slightiest celebrities try to start a solo career these days...
2whaaa.... wasn't he pretty successful with his solo album? it hit #2 didn't it? i don't know. maybe i'm biased because my friends and i loved "what's left of me" hahaha
3Bout time there was something about Nick posted, there's only so much John and Jessica that I can take.
4i doubt he will ever be that successful as an artist, theres too much background about him people dont take him seriously. To be honest i like nick as a man but hes not the greatest singer there is
5i love nick as a man and as a singer. He's yust underrated!!
6Finally he realizes what little talent he possesses. Every single album sounds the exact song, pop crap. I am pretty sure that cheesy pop boy lyrics were in, in the 90's, NOT NOW! I can't stand is music. Sorry but it will NOT be any different without Jessica.
7Such a good looking man.
8Love NICKKKKKK
9I will buy this cd. Just to support the man, even if I don't like him.
10I liked Nick better with Jess.
11he never looks happy
12he looked happy with jesscia and jess with john is just weird
13oh wait i forgot to say - vanessa is horrible for him - ugh , the girl is going to use him -
14Too early to say that it's not going anywhere.
15I hope Vanessa isn't using him. That would make me very sad.
I miss Newlyweds.
16I wish nick the best with his music however i do think that vanessa is all wrong for him.he can do so much better. She just seems snooty to me and i think down the road could cause trouble for nick.I hope he soon sees the light when it comes to her.the day when he breaks it off with her alot of his fans will be dancing and singing all over nick nation.
17Nick hasn't been good since 98 degrees disbanded. And they didn't even sell that many albums. i think Nick just needs to profit off his B list status and not try to make CDs.
18I mean, that's what I would do if I could.
19B listers rule!
He is good looking.
20I love Nick...he's hot and down to earth, but I'm just not sure about his future music career. I think he is probably just going to be famous for being famous, you know?
21Ummm.... he is a good looking guys but I mean as a singer, there are a lot of guys ten times better than him. so Nick, just chill
22Ummm.... he is a good looking guys but I mean as a singer, there are a lot of guys ten times better than him. so Nick, just chill
23Ummm.... he is a good looking guys but I mean as a singer, there are a lot of guys ten times better than him. so Nick, just chill
24sorry for the triple post.... not my intention
25He "ain't all that"
26I miss it too ilove2ski!
27So incredibly hot. I'm not so into his type of music, but I do like his voice enough (I admit...I have (and love) the 98 degrees Christmas album). Mostly I want him to sit in my office all day and look hot. He doesn't even have to talk if he doesn't want to.
28Nick should give up the music career. He is never going to be Justin or Usher. Timbaland or Pharrell are not rushing to work with him and Diane Warren is not going to write a song for him. After two lackluster albums, his music career is over.
Nick should try acting. He was okay on those episodes of “Charm”.
29Why does he have to have Timberland or Pharrell behind him to make a decent album? Trust me, if the money is right, these people will work with anybody, and that includes Paris Hilton.
30There are other genres of music that he fits into, so why can't he have that? You'd think that Justin Timberlake was the only one out there that can get a song on the radio.
why should a singer give up their career because they don't sell as many records as usher or timberlake? if every singer and/or musician practiced according to that standard there would be hardly any artists making music. as long as he can pay the mortgage and he enjoys it then he should rock on!
i liked his last album very much and if this new one is as good then i'll buy that too - good luck to him
31i dont like his music, never did but i am happy that he is still singing its obviously something he enjoys so good for him
"stay far from timid, only make moves when your hearts in it and live the phrase sky's the limit."
32I don't like him. I can't pinpoint it but I just can't.
33T-Hive why oh why did Pap Joe ever interfere?!?!?!
34I think Vanessa is gorgeous.
But, Jessica I just loved her personality. It was so addicting.
blah! i havent liked any of his solo stuff, but i was a big 98degrees girl back in the day!
35"Its perfectly normal to have girl crushes"
Gotta love Old School Brit!
oh 98 degrees! love them. I went to their concert in the 8th grade. And he gave the cutest shout out to Jessica.
TEAR.....
36I love Nick. He's one of my favorites. As someone said WLOM debuted at #2. If you read the original article on mtv.com, Don't tell Effie: Nick Lachey Says He's Teaming With "Dreamgirls" Underdogs, he and the Underdogs are old friends probably because 98 Degrees first signed with Motown. I'm looking forward to this new album. Good luck, Nick!
37i liked whats left of me and i cant hate u anymore but what does he have 2 write about now
38we are all over the divorce and stuff its over
never have seen his appeal.
39Nick is in the entertainment business; key word being business. His record company looks at the artists who are bring in profits for company and stockholders. If as an artist your records do not generate a profit after expensive are paid, you will be dropped from the label regardless many time the tabloids write about you. Every recording artist from an unsigned band to Justin Timberlake understands that how record companies work.
The reality is Nick’s relationship Vanessa or “Newlyweds” do not improve his record sales. If he is to have his record contract renewal, he needs a big hit record.
The music career is not working out for him as he would like which is why he was trying other things like acting and sport casting on ESPN.
My suggestion was maybe it was time to let the music and move on to other things.
40the title of this post cracked me up or some reason.
41No clue ilove2ski. Nick is a beef cake.
42nick is sooo pissed that his brother was on dancing with the stars first! that was supposed to be his comeback. hey nick, i heard there was an opening on trl!
43TEAM FLUTTER!!!!!
I don't understand the whole talk about leaving his music behind.
Why does Nick have to be with Jess to sell records? FYI, his first solo album did not do well with her. His second album debuted at #2 and sold over 500,000 (Gold) and had his own tour. Those are huge accomplishments. As for Jessica's latest efforts, she's only sold a little over 300,000 and did not go on tour. Jessica is NOTHING without Nick.
Nick is doing fine with music. He's a better vocalist/singer than half of the male artists in the industry and that includes Justin.
44I hope it goes well
45he's a sweety, and I want him to do well, but the interest just isn't there. Good luck to him anyways. gotta give him credit for trying right?
46I miss Newlyweds.
