Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds announced their engagement back in May, but the couple haven't made any public appearances together since then, including last night's big red carpet premiere of Vicky Cristina Barcelona in LA. In an interview that airs tonight on ET Canada, Scarlett talks about how excited she is to marry a Canadian, but we're wondering whether these two will ever go through with it, especially considering Ryan has been engaged before and never tied the knot. 12Why wouldnt they? I hate the idea that engaged couples are supposed to flaunt their engagement and wedding details. Maybe it is private to them. That says more to me than couples who broadcast their 'love' all over the place (remember Nick and Jessica).

I think the reason for the fast-track is that then the media can start doing a "pregnancy" count and THEN we can marvel at Scarlett's rapid weight loss...the new celebrity thing to watch for: how quickly they drop pounds.

I don't think it's any indication of the state of their relationship just because they don't make red carpet appearances together. I don't know if they will end up getting married, but they seem happy together right now.

34I voted other because I think it's a maybe...but I do think it's a bit odd that you NEVER see them together. That just seems off to me but I agree that privacy is sexy so good for them if they're happy. I really like both actors so it's a win-win either way...

They are both young. Scarlett is still only about 24, right? They have plenty of time. I for one, wouldn't want to get married unless I had a longish engagement. Try to work things out before the arrangement becomes permanant and legalized. They both are in a profession where the success rate of marriage is low. It would be smart to wait and be sure.

42it's only the BEGINNING of august and for them to really talk about when/where they are getting married is a bit soon. lots of celebs plan these elaborate weddings, and it can be hard to figure out things with schedules. ALSO, just cause we haven't heard about it, or seen them together lately doesn't mean anything. they can be private - i think that it's allowed.
