Morgan Freeman and Wife Divorcing After 24 Years of Marriage Days after he was involved in a serious car accident, a friend of Dark Knight star Morgan Freeman confirmed to Access Hollywood that the actor is getting a divorce.
Freeman and his wife of 24 years, costumer Myrna Colley-Lee, “are involved in a divorce action,” the actor’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett told Access Hollywood. “And for legal and practical purposes, [Freeman and Colley-Lee] have been separated since December of 2007.”

Not surprise because I doubted it when he was in an accident in a car with another woman.
1Karma's a b*tch! He cheated, so him and his other woman got into a nasty car accident. Whatever, he's still a good actor though.

4Well, if he and his wife had been separated since Dec. 2007, not sure that I would call him being with another woman in Aug 2008 "cheating", but the rep's comment about "for legal purposes" is a little weird. It is sad to see such a long marriage end and I hope he recovers from the accident ok. He is one of my favorite actors.

He got busted a while ago by his wife for cheating. THATS why theyre in divorce proceedings.

13I just thought it was her accusing him of it and him being shocked at the filing for divorce? Well, if it's really true then he sucks for doing that.

15I didn't get the idea that there was an affair either, just her accusations. She never had anything to back it up. I remember thinking it smelled like a money hungry person to me. Wants out of the marriage but doesn't want to lose all the perks.
16I don't know about where Morgan lives, but in VA you have to be legally separated for at least 12 months before filing for divorce if it is on "no fault" grounds. So that is why the comment says they have been separated for legal and practical purposes since Dec '07.
17And I still love Morgan, no matter what controversy surrounds him.
