Eva Longoria was looking a little unpolished yesterday, but don't worry — it's just a part of Gaby's new look in the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives. Eva smiled and joked around with her on-screen hubby Ricardo Chavira and co-star Shawn Pyfrom while filming the show in LA. While we wait for the ladies of Wisteria Lane to come back in the Fall, in an interview with Latina magazine, Eva admitted that she herself enjoys playing housewife to Tony and more. Here's more:
- On her marriage with Tony: "The wedding was absolutely magical. I wish I could have a wedding every year . . . I'm a 1950s housewife. I love baking. I love sewing. Being home with Tony. My mother was like that. Always took care of her husband. I always admired and wanted to do that . . . I make everything. His favorite dish is lemon pepper chicken with a lemon pasta sauce that I make. He could eat that everyday. I'm a big cook."
- On her childhood: "We weren't allowed to eat out. My dad refused to let us eat at restaurants or fast food. Our big treat was Domino's pizza. We would sneak out and go get pizza . . . I paid for my cheerleading and everything [by working at Wendy's for six years]. It was like whatever you want to do outside of school, you have to pay for it. I never had a car because I was always trying to save."
To see what else Eva had to say about pageants, just read more.
- On beginning her career: "I love pageants. In Texas, it's like the culture. If you're a woman, you have to do pageants. If you're a boy, you have to be a football player. In my pageant package, I won a trip to Hollywood to compete in a talent competition. And I said, I'm going to go. It would be fun to go for a week to Hollywood. So I came, and I never went home. I fell in love with L.A. I happened to become an actor and it was really all so fast. I didn't even go home to pack. I had my mom send my clothes. I never went back. "
Even if she can often be a bit much, sometimes we can't help but be won over by this former beauty queen's endearing quotes.

wow she looks horrid, my cold heart just made a little little small place for her, as far as her childhood I can totally relate, my fellow mexiCAN american
1i really like Eva, she seems so chilled and down to earth, she looks really sweet even with scraggly hair lol
2i'm dying to see what the new season is all about! cuz that finale left me shocked & pissed! hehe
3I can relate too, pinkprincess1101, to her childhood. My parents always gave me what I needed; my wants were up to me.
I love Tony Parker!
4She likes sewing? Oh my God, quick, somebody give her her own fashion line!! Although... if she knows how to thread a needle she may be slightly over qualified
5Audrey not more than I do tony
6YOu and me BOTH cecilia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a scary look for her, and I'm surprised "carlos" will put up with it! LOL
7see i guess we don't know much about eva before the show and before tony -but it kind of seems like sometimes she does things and says things for effect...and that's really not exciting to me. she had the 'all out' wedding that people talked about for ages, and i wonder if it was more for show than anything else. i don't know. anyway, i hope that she's really enjoying being a housewife.
8I love her and can't wait for DH.
9I have to give the girl credit for looking the part of her 'new' and I take it, depressed character.
Kiki!
10Mykie7, Carlos is blind, remember?
11She reminds me of Marisa Tomei here.
12Isn't Lemon Chicken the dish that Deborah on Everybody Loves Raymond used to make Ray and he was so sick of it and hated it??
Random............ lol
13pregnant? she looks a bit the like...
14I can't wait for next season!
15Does anyone know where I can watch the season finale online?? I missed it!
I have been trying
to find it, but no luck so far...
16Eva is pretty down to earth. I have become to really like her. Not every actress would go on the set dressed down like she is (Jennifer Aniston, who, by the way, has not plumped up her upper lip). Eva has not forgotten where she came from.
17OH YEAH Chocolate! That's right! Guess she can get away with it until he touches her. LMAO
18Laura- ABC doesnt have it on there?
She looks like crap in these pics and I love it.
And BTW- Pageants are NOT like a culture in Dallas. Maybe in San Antonio. Pink? In Dallas they are lame and sad. Scholarship Program my ass.
19i knew you would brian, not here in san antonio either, i thought that was pretty off too
20I'm also loving it.
She only said all that crap about loving being a housewife for the affect and publicity. Girl probably doesn't sew at all. Perhaps she cooks every once in awhile. But I don't believe for a second she actually thinks of herself as a 1950's housewife.
21She looks good with some meat on her bones! Her hair is the only thing that looks really crappy (& clothes) but she doesn't look all that bad with less makeup
22rpenner, I thought that was funny too. Cuz a 1950's housewife wouldn't be working or talking to the press either. LOL
23I wish I still watched this show, looks interesting but I missed the last season and a half!!
And I find it funny that she worked at Wendy's if she was not allowed to eat fast food..b/c I'm sure she ate a sandwich or fries on a break at least once, honestly..
24I can't wait for the new season!!!
