Tom Brady didn't need his football helmet to look handsome all suited up for the September issue of Esquire. Football season is just around the corner, which means it's time for Tom to start working towards erasing last year's Super Bowl from all of our minds. In the issue, Tom won't dish on Gisele or his little boy, but opens up about life, celebrity, and why football isn't that important. Here are highlights:
- On going out in public: "If I feel anxious every time someone is staring at me, well, I can't control what they stare at, but my reaction is, I'm just not going to go outside the house. I'm going to stay in and chill. And when I do go out, I understand what comes along with that."
- On his career: "Look at the attention I get: It's because I throw a football. But that's what society values. That's not what God values. God could give a shi*t, as far as I'm concerned. He didn't invent the game. We did. I have some eye-hand coordination, and I can throw the ball. I don't think that matters to God."
To hear more of what Tom Brady had to say about his career and his father, just read more.
- On his father: "We all have experiences in our lives that change us, and we all learn from people, like my dad, but at the end of the day, it's only us. And we're only responsible to make ourselves happy. Too often in life, something happens and we blame other people for us not being happy or satisfied or fulfilled. So the point is, we all have choices, and we make the choice to accept people or situations or to not accept situations. If someone lies, well, you had a choice to trust that person or not. I think the way my father raised me, well, he trusted everybody. And that worked for him."
- On losing the Super Bowl: "What the hell you gonna do about it? Sit there and b*tch and complain and ruin the next two months of your life because something didn't go right for you? Or do you say, you know, F*ck it, let's learn from it, let's accept it, understand that it didn't happen and move on?"
Tom Brady might be low key, but there's nothing boring about this hot football QB — whether he's on or off the field.

I will have to read the rest of this interview because he sounds quite humble. I haven't really cared for him because of how everything went down with him and the baby, etc, but if he realizes that football is just a sport and that society turns them into these icons and that God really doesn't care about that, well he is more realistic than most sports stars or celebs. Interesting.
1Nah, let's not stop hating on Tom Brady. I would say enjoy your crappy season like most teams suffer after losing the Super Bowl the year before, but in the AFC (L)east, they could sleep through winning that division. Oh, and you didn't actually censor anything on the first expletive, you just added and asterisk.
Also, I wonder if he thinks all the swearing makes him look good, because it just makes him look stupid.
Go Colts!

Love him. I have to get this whole interview to. I love what he has said for far. I
also love what he said about his father, I understand exactly what he is saying in that whole paragraph. The man is awesome.
3Tom is a cutie but hey, they're looking at you because you're hanging with Gisele Bundchen! No one would be snapping your pic off the field if you weren't dating a model or actress.
4he is so overrated when it comes to looks and style. I am NOT a Brady fan at all, but tried to see something intelligent in his interview. Nope, still not a fan!
5I'll keep hating on Tom Brady, thank you. He's not hot & the only reason he's getting attention is his girlfriend. If he wasn't with Giselle Bundchen he'd be just another football player.
6Can't stand him...
7Nah, I'm going to keep on keepin' on with my hatred of him. I'm a Giants fan FFS!!!
GOOOOOOOOOO GIANTSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
8He's ok, I don't really know much about him
9He looks good in the photos. At least he doesn't have those Dad jeans on
10He looks so generic. It's like he walked out of a 60s IBM ad. Boring.
11"What the hell you gonna do about it? Sit there and b*tch and complain and ruin the next two months of your life because something didn't go right for you?"
I like to imagine that's what Bill Bellicheat was doing.
I personally don't buy all this "I'm so humble" bit. The team tried to portray this attitude throughout the season with stuff like their lame "humble pie" t-shirts but their actions spoke louder than their words. Anyone remember how smug Tom looked and laughed when the press told him Plaxico predicted the Pats would only score 17 points?
18-1.... bwahahahahaha!
12To Woop:
Really you're going to call Belicheck a cheater when you have a pick of Angelina as your photo! haha i guess you are a cherry picker.
And it was Burress who was smug by predicting the score, no patriots did as much.
13Hm, he would sound more humble if he didn't cuss so much in the interview..
14He's ugly-sorry:)
15I can't stand this man, something about a man seeing his son four times a year turns me off.
16I LOVE him. Gorgeous.
17Like, zomg! saradeg like really zinged me! Sike. Any reason to bring AJ into a post though right? Aw, it'll be alright. Really. You can stop crying. Bill and Tom probably have. There's a whole new season coming for the Pats to run up scores. As for cheaters - you believe what you will, as will I. I'm not worried.
18I'm with usinda on this.
Have never found this guy attractive.
19Don't love what happened between he and Bridget, don't think he's particularly hot, but still...
GO PATS!
I guess some things carry over from failed relationships... like which football team you're rooting for.
20P-A-T-S! Pats Pats Pats!
21i think he's hot ~ sounds like an interesting interview, i def want to read it
22i do not like him one bit.
he has this permament smug, arrogant look on his.
23I dont really know much about him,all I can say is that he looks hot !
24I couldn't give to sh*ts about his personally life, but he's smoking hot and a pretty damn good football player.
25I'm not a big football fan and I think he's a little TOO good looking. Blech, he just doesn't do it for me.
26He looks gorgeous as usual. His appearance is similar to my brother-in-law's, only Tom is much better looking! I genuinely think he is a pious individual that greatly values his privacy, his family, relationships, etc. I don't think he is perfect by any means, but I still find him to be more honorable than most athletes. He is soft spoken and unassuming. Oh ya, if my team rolled roughshod over the opposition like the Pats did last year, I would laugh with contempt at anybody who suggested we were ONLY going to score 17 points! They played brillantly for 18 of their 19 games last season. The Super Bowl was a fluke! Go Pats!!!!!!!!!!!!
27very handsome
28Id tap that even though Im a Cowboys fan. Have to admit, hes the best quaterback right now and hes freakin hot.
29Hate him. No character. Dumps his PREGNANT girlfriend to take up with an underwear model? The lowest. THEN when he picks up his baby - he brings the underwear model with him to stick it in the face of his former-girlfriend/babies mother. No class. Now that he's doing ad's and articles they expect women to fawn over him. Yuk. Never. I don't even see why people think he's so hot - he has a cromagnum head.
30The lights are on, but nobody's home. NOT impressed.
31i love him! he sounds very down-to-earth
32I LOVE Tom Brady!! Personally I think he is the hottest man alive!! The man is drop dead gorgeous!! He is a GREAT Quarterback and yes okay they didnt win the Superbowl last year..or what I like to call..the Fluke bowl! He will get at least one more Superbowl ring before his career is over! Personally myself I had no idea who Gisselle Bundchen was until she started dating him! So the idea that people only know who he is because he is with her..well that makes me laugh lol! I think he was more known then she was..just my opinion though. She isnt good enough for him anyways lol. I can't wait to read this article..probably love him even more after I do! Go Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
33he always looks so greasy he is in my top 5 of unattractive sports stars.
34No douchebag, God does not care about football. But God may care how much time you spend with you son, as opposed to a supermodel.
I think you may have an unpleasant surprise waiting for you at the pearly gates.
35Mmmmm his hot bod may not matter to God, but GOD it matters to me =)
36A lot of you people seem to know nothing at all about football. This man helped the New England Patriots win THREE Superbowls in FOUR years. And THAT is how he shot to fame and that is why people began to have interest in his life, the supermodel gf came after that.
37Omg so hott! He's my biggest reason for watching the Patriots. Yummmm!
38I got this magazine today and read the article! I think I love him even more now if thats at all possible! The pictures of him were gorgeous!
39And I agree with you ^^ he is the reason I got into watching football in the first place! lol The man is amazing to watch on the football field! Cant wait for kickoff!!! Go Pats!!
Okay, I'm pretty impartial to Tom Brady, but I just wanted to sort out a couple things for folks who seem to have a really bad impression of him.
1) Tom Brady and Bridget Monahayn broke up BEFORE Bridget found out she was pregnant because he wasn't ready to have children... meaning Bridget very likely was trying to get pregnant behind his back in the last leg of their relationship.
3) There have been a MULTITUDE of stories about how Bridget holds such a grudge against Tom that she barely lets him see the baby. It was reported that she wouldn't let him in the hospital room when John was born.
So yes, give Tom Brady crap because he's not your type or you root for an opposing team, but seriously, stay out of his personal life. How would you like it if it were you whose personal life everyone was spewing hate about without any solid facts aboout it?
40^^^ Well said!! Couldnt agree with you more!!!!
