AWESOME!!! She kicks butt like no one else.
1poor ed
2Go Angie!!
3I'd like to see Angie kick Tom's ass on film...that would be cool!
4Tom they just basically telling you that u suck balls by actually changing the character to a woman. Angie has the world in her freaking fingertips.

^
6I love it! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy! LOL.
Tom Cruise has been replaced by Bale aka Batman in one movie and now by Angelina, a woman, in another movie. Consider his red carpet hogging appearances with Katie when Batman Begins premiered and his arrogance (and ignorance) in spouting off about post-partum issues on national TV, it kind of makes me believe in karma!
7Go Angelina!
8GIRL POWER !
9Har har! Sit down Tom Cruise.
10Beat out of a role by a woman.
Tiny Tom has just gotten tinier......hahahahahahahahahaha
11A few hours ago Michael Fleming's story announced that Angelina Jolie will be taking what was previously thought to be Tom Cruise's role in Columbia's Edwin A. Salt, a high-toned spy thriller that Phillip Noyce will direct. As soon as I saw it on my iPhone, around 4:45 pm today, I e-mailed Noyce to offer congratulations.
It turns out this was Noyce's first notification that the deal between Jolie and Columbia was signed, sealed and delivered. It took three days to work out the particulars, which is quite fast by Hollywood standards. Deals can take months to cobble together, obviously depending on the particulars. The title will now be "something A. Salt" -- the female first name obviously not yet decided. The shoot will hopefully begin in February '09.
Cruise had actually lost interest in the Salt part because he felt it was too close to his Mission Impossible character of Ethan Hunt.
I'm trying to think of other parts written for guys that women wound up playing, and all I can think of is Rosalind Russell playing Hildy Johnson in Howard Hawks' The Front Page.
12* Angelina Jolie - Great, from one crazy nutbag to another. One more movie I won't see.
* Tom Cruise's - Again, it's Tom cruise, but if the movie looks FUNNY enough, I might RENT it.
* Vanessa Hudgens - Little girl better clean up her act!
* Nikki Blonsky's father was released - Okay, as Paula Poundstone once said "Is the whole idea of jail that it be a LITTLE bit bad for you?"
* Hayden Panettiere's - Spin time! Unfortunately, whether she denies it or not, her father is now labeled an abuser.
13I CAN' T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE.
14lmfao mykie one nutbag to another, no kidding
15Strange but cool...
16well - i don't think that i'll go see that movie if it ever gets producted w/ angie in the lead. i've seen her in a few things and she's really not compelling to watch - only in GIA was i interested
as for tom in the chef movie - that could be good for him. he always seems to do well with comedy type things.
vanessa is always getting sued by someone - that girl's got bad luck!
poor ed - it's not like he's really got the $$ coming in yet - he's got a gig but that's not set to start for a bit right?
i hpe that nicki's dad is doing ok - that's a scary thing to have health problems and be in a foreign jail no less. ugh - the things that the darn bianca stirs up!
poor hayden - if it was a misunderstanding then she's going to have to live that one down for a while.
poor girl.
17Yay for Angelina!
How come all of these domestic disputes end up being "misunderstandings"? Didn't the same thing happen with Diane Lane and Josh Brolin a few years ago? And then Jude Law and Sadie Frost before that?
18Angelina is proficient at action movies. She really seems only slated for b*dass temptress roles, period pieces where she is an opposing female force, or video game adaptations. She was not convincing in A Mighty Heart or the Good Shepherd. I think she has potential to hone her craft, if she would take a break from cranking out kids and/or adopting them.
19"Proficient"? Better said she is incapable to emote like a crafty , talented actress, so all she can do is wear skin tight leather outfits and spread some violence around....nice role model.
20dublin-cranking!!
21My thoughts exactly flying. She was the character I liked the LEAST in gone in sixty seconds. I TRIED to watch Tomb Raider, but the character of Lara Croft was so contrived and "simple", and while I loved the movie Girl Interrupted, I wasn't impressed by her. The acting was forced, and she just came across as a psycho nutbag. Hard to explain I know, because the character she was playing was supposed to be this complicated person with all the neurosis. I didn't get complicated, I just got mean and shallow.
22I thought A Mighty Heart and Girl, Interrupted were her best roles, acting-wise. Her acting was incredible and moving, especially during the emotional climaxes of both movies. She was supposed to be a sociopath in Girl, Interrupted so of course she acted psycho! I think that she should try to do something different than dramas and action movies, like a comedy (non-animated) or at least a dramedy. I'm sick of seeing her in one serious role after the next.
23I might actually see a movie starring Angelina where as I definately wouldn't see a movie starring Tommy boy, so good move casting people.
24Couldn't ask for a better actor!
Angelina is at her peak right now...and it'd be
cool to see her take over a man's role! Rock on!
25CaliforniaGirl, I agree with you about her roles in A Mighty Heart and Girl, Interrupted. The Good Shepherd also proved her acting chops. Gia got me hooked, and I've been on Team Jolie since then. She's grown from a lost wild child to a found, wonderful adult, and I love that.
I loved, loved, loved her in Mr & Mrs Smith. That was the perfect movie, because it showed her comedic side, action side and romantic side. (I still can't believe NICOLE KIDMAN was supposed to play Mrs. Smith!) She was great in Wanted, because she communicated a lot nonverbally.

27What a day for women, you go Angelina.
28" The Good Shepherd also proved her acting chops. " Right!! She should have had a BSA nomination for that role but it was a tough year for BSA. I like this premise. Since "Atlas Shrugged" is back off the stove for the forseeable future this looks like a good fit and dovetails with Brad's schedule since "The Fighter" is also off.
I get a kick out of people who say AJ wasn't acting in "Girl Interrupted" whatever issues AJ had no one has ever called her a sociopath before. She is a superb actress, as many fine professionals attest.

Audrey1974 - Yeah, she was fantastic in Gia too. I saw the Good Shepherd too, but that movie was so boring and I barely remember Angelina in it. And I agree with you about Mr. & Mrs. Smith too, it was nice to see her balance comedy and action. She should do more roles like that. Ok I am going to run away now, before 3 or 4 Brangelina haters (for lack of a better word) come and bring up the "affair" between Brad & Angie again. Just kidding
I come
in peace
30Yeah I said "too" way TOO many times. Guh...I wish we could edit our posts.
31Angelina? Tom? I'm sure in any case I'm not gonna see this movei!
32Angelina ROCKS!!!!!
33This pair seems to be pressed to earn some bucks to continue their chosen lifestyle, not to make good movies for the sake of art and ability. I believe they are now just together for a huge family, the numbers seem to be so very important to them.....the more the merrier. How much time in a 24 hr day, or make that 16 hours awake with 8 hrs for sleeping, does that leave for them to give undivided attention and nurturing to each of the six children? Guess the FOUR nannies do that for them...i also believe they have an OPEN relationship. Don't ask, Don't tell. She got what she wanted, and he got what he wanted. They each enable the other to do their own thing....karma is a witch
34this woman can do whatever she wants. she's gorgeous, talented, and generous.
