Aug 15 2008 - 7:58am After winning Silver in the team competition earlier in the week, American gymnasts Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson won the Gold and Silver medals respectively in the individual all-around finals Friday morning in Beijing.
Thank heavens the extremely, dare I say it, BLIND scoring on behalf of the chinese gymnasts didn't screw these two over. The judges were not consistent with their deductions on the beam -
they were taking points from these two wherever they could and not taking those same warranted deductions from the two chinese.
i'm so happy that nastia won. she was amazing last night, and deserved this after her grueling year. they call it "artistic" gymnastics for a reason. the judges were ridiculous though, and
