Shia LaBeouf headed back to his house in LA on Friday sporting a new cap and another unfortunate accessory, a cigarette, hanging from his mouth. At least there's some good news for Shia this week — he headed back to work on Transformers 2 on Thursday.
Hopefully spending time on the set and getting back into the movie world will help keep Shia out of trouble, though it's clear that he's not planning on kicking all his bad habits just yet.

3Being an ex smoker I can relate to what he is feeling. Smoking is one way of edging off the stress, even if it is the worst habit to get into. Right now he has so much stress going on in his life and work load right now, that he needs something to ease off the tension, otherwise he would probably go mental on the paps and everyone that caused him stress.
4I am not saying smoking is the right thing to do, but being in the entertainment business like Shia is life can be stressful considering the stupid pap roaches camped out in his driveway, plus also the DUI tests breathing down his neck. Not to mention he has studio heads probably giving him heat too.
Hopefully after Transformers 2 and promotions for it are done the guy can take some R&R, because he needs it big time, before working on anymore projects.

5compared to everything else that he's been known to do - i can't imagine that people would really be that upset about the smoking thing. i just hope that he's taking the accident to be a life changing thing, and we'll see him start to keep things in check. we don't need another young hollywood star go downhill.

11A Little harsh Pop considering it has yet to be proven he was drinking that night or if he was IF he was over the limit since the police are still waiting for his BAC.
He was the only person seriously injured in an accident that was in no way his fault. AND he might be innocent of the DUI charge as well. But has been publicly already found guilty.
Also he avoids drugs due to his Dads battle with heroin and regularly attends AA meetings with his Dad.
I would think the smoking is a pretty small vice for a 22 year old who just saw a worldwide box office take of 1 billion dollars in just over a year.
You had better believe he has the studios on his back right now.. he has Eagle Eye coming up, he is filming Transformers 2 and then might go right into prepping for Y:The Last Man (which would be a trilogy).
Thats a lot of pressure.
