After a weekend that involved some birthday celebrating, Ben Affleck was ready to face the world with a new age and some new facial scruff to go with it. He grabbed some breakfast with friends at Shutters Hotel in LA, and we have to say that the rugged look is working well for him. Of course, he'll have to clean up before his big trip to the Democratic National Convention next week, since he'll probably want his serious face on for political matters, but once he gets down to business moving into that big fancy new house, casual Ben could make another appearance.

he's really got the life huh? great wife, great daughter, great new baby on the way. he's held in high regard by just about everyone - and he just seems happy. i wish him the best in the year to come and i can't wait to see him get back to acting if that's where his career takes him.
