The highly anticipated 90210 spinoff will premiere two weeks from tonight, and not even the critics will get a chance to check it out before then. The CW has decided not to release the first episode beforehand, raising eyebrows since it's unusual to keep a pilot under wraps. What do you think — is it a bad sign that the 90210 spinoff won't be reviewed early?

Maybe it's because the finale of the ORIGINAL 90210 aired last night, and got me nostalgic again. It made me remember how I felt watching that when it first aired, and how much I missed the show for a while.
I just hope this one lives up to the hype.

5This programme sounds like a hot mess. It probably won't get good reviews, but it'll definitely get a lot of views, for the young audience it's aiming at and the people who used to watch it in the 90's, like me!

10Brian, do you get Soapnet? Every night at 5 and 6 they air the old show. Starting tonight it's the Pilot episode again and it starts all over. APPARENTLY, they've been airing in on there since the inception of Soapnet, but because I can't STAND the drivel that is soap operas, I didn't know it was on there until I did a search for 90210. Now, that's what I watch while I'm fixing dinner for the kids, doing laundry etc.
Plus, on Saturdays and Sundays they air even MORE eps. Yes, I admit it, I'm a geek. LOL

14i think that it has to be a bad sign for the show. there has been so much pre-promotion for it that we all know that its' coming but if they don't even want critics to see it ahead of time, well that means that they aren't certain about how it's turned out.
oh well - i'm sure that at least the first 1/2 of the premier (1 hr of the 2 hr) will get decent ratings and then depending on how it ends up - we'll see if it is even on air for more episodes.

You know what though? I'd rather watch that than things like Big Brother (On CBS) or ANYTHING on BET. At least the shows on the CW have entertainment value.
However, I'm smart enough to realize that many OTHER people like shows like Big Brother and things on BET, so I would never deem to call them "dumb" just because they enjoy something I don't. But hey, that's just me. I like when other people have different opinions than me.

27We live in a tough world so getting to take an hour or so to "shut the brain off" and watch something to zone out all the issues isn't always a bad thing. IMO anyway.

33I know too many people and have seen so much buzz across the message boards for the premiere NOT to be a hit. I'm just not excited for Shanae Grimes to be front and center. She's a very, very bad actress.
34Yeah the one girl from Niptuck is awful and I have notion she will portraying the same type of character in this series too. Then the guy to the far left is actually from a few Disney Channel movies/tv series so quite interesting. I watched the first two seasons and then last interest. I don't expect anything better with this spin off.

Usually I just have to see a name and a face, and it will be imprinted in my mind for a long time. 36Well, California, we DID have Brenda. She was irritating too. I loved her, but she bugged the hell out of me. And watching the pilot last night all I could think of was "OMG GIRL! TWEEZE THOSE BROWS!" LMAO
And I own seasons 1-4 on DVD. I told you, I'm a huge Dork! They sit right next to my entire series of Buffy and what I have so far of Grey's Anatomy. LOL

39The fact is, this is 90210...we all know what it's going to be about - fitting in, peer pressure and other teenage drama, just like like the original. Sometimes you just have to embrace the cheese.
I don't need some critic who's probably a 40 year old man to tell me that it was the worst thing he ever watched. Plus, I would rather form my OWN, UNBIASED opinion than be influenced by someone who - if they weren't a critic - would probably have never heard of the show, let alone watch it.
I don't see why not allowing it to be reviewed means that it is now doomed. They say it was a marketing decision to maintain the buzz around it and guess what? Everyone's talking about it and that's exactly what they wanted. More people will probably tune in to at least satisfy their curiosity. As a marketing professional I have to say it was a great move!

seasons of Full House, 6 (out of 7) seasons of Gilmore Girls, the first 2 seasons of Lost, seasons 1
& 3 of Alias, season 1 of Will & Grace, and season 1 of Ugly Betty. Phew! I hate most of what is on TV today, so I usually just watch older shows on DVD.

46Yeah, How I Met Your Mother is one of the shows that I will watch when I see that it's on but it's not "must see TV" for me. I need to watch the earlier seasons first.
