Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were spotted on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC yesterday, but it didn't look like an ordinary day of filming. Instead of the impeccably chic outfits we're used to seeing on our favorite upper east siders, the ladies were all decked out in costumes that would have been trendy in a very different time setting. Looks like catfights aren't the only surprises in store for season two — if only September 1st could get here faster.

I wonder where in NYC they're filming? I mean I don't keep up with the show but it would be nice to catch a glimpse of them. Anyway, poor Leighton, she looks all frumpy compared to Blake's costume.

24These costumes are from My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn. Leightons' is from when Eliza Doolittle meets Mr. Higgins while she's selling flowers on the street and Blakes' is when Mr. Higgins takes Eliza to the horse races for her first outing.
why more gossip sites aren't getting this right is beyond me!
25I have to agree with others and say that it isn't fair that Blake always gets the "cuter" outfit, when we all know Leighton is the real star of the show

27ZOMG! *Love* the My Fair Lady costume... probably because I did a monologue wearing the costume for a pageanty thing.
28They're both dressed as Eliza. Blair just looks a bit Poppins b/c the hat's the same for both characters and they're set at the same time period. But that's def. a guttersnipe costume.
