Taking a break from her tunes, Drew played it cool at LAX this week. We've been caught up in her preferred relaxation techniques and new man recently, but she's got big projects on the horizon, too. Drew is producing and starring in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical (which came from a documentary) Grey Gardens, based on the lives of Edith and Edith Bouvier Beale, the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Kennedy.
Jessica Lange and Drew will co-star as the mother and daughter debutantes who become reclusive, refuse to wash and let their 50 cats rule the house as their wealth dwindles. I think it's safe to say we've never seen bubbly Drew in a role like this before, but we're excited to see her more serious side, too!

6You have GOT TO rent it. It is soooooooooo weird. The mom & daughter are bizarre. Not "quirky bizarre", like really off the deep end weird...like they eat cat food on ritz crackers weird. They are cousins w/Jackie O. I watched the documentary hoping to have a few laughs at the eccentric mom & daughter. Their house was so filthy, I felt like I needed a shower just from watching the movie.
RENT IT!!!!
She is such a good actress. I loved her in 50 First Dates, The Wedding Singer, Fever Pitch, Never Been Kissed. Those are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head. This girl is awesome. And she looks cute here too.

21I've seen the show on Broadway -- Christine Ebersole is INCREDIBLE!!!!!-- but haven't seen the documentary it was based on, as of yet. It's in my list of movies to see.

Drew is awesome, but I probably would have chosen a different combo for this film. But Grey Gardens is a film MASTERPIECE, jessugar. It is an older documentary, shot in the 1970s. It is worth checking out. SERIOUSLY. Jackie O'Nassis Kennedy, who is like the icon for fabulousness and class, has these two relatives who live in filth. They become so dirty the town forces them to clean their house and yard. The interesting part of the documentary is the mother-daughter relationship, which is strange. Plus, the daughter has her own sense of style. I think Vogue magazine did a spread on it some time ago. But I have not seen the musical, though I understand it is good, too.
