Michelle Williams and Matilda went out for a walk in New York yesterday, but it doesn't look like Matilda needs any of mom's coffee to get her energy going. She showed off her sprinting skills, giving mom Michelle a little exercise too, taking off down the street in her pink dress all ready for ballet class just like another 2-year-old we know. Looks like Matilda's off and running these days, showing off her mom and dad's independent spirits passed down already.

i can just picture michelle chasing after matilda down the street - kids are impulsive like that. i'm sure that matilda knows better right? i think that it's great how much she resembles BOTH parents - so that way they will always have a piece of heath with them.

I'm not sure what kind of mother I would be if I were a star with paparazzi always around. Do you always hold your child like Jennifer Garner or try to let them have a little fun and run like Michelle does? It's a tough call. Either way, both girls look very happy.

Mayeb63, I'm glad that she lets Matilda run around a little. I'm sure that she wouldn't do it if she was being crowded, considering how many times Matilda is in her stroller or holding on to her mom's hand. She's a little girl, and they're going to take the pictures regardless, so it's probably fine just to let her be.

Mayebe63 - I get the impression that the paps don't get as physically close to Michelle and Matilda as they do to Jennifer Garner and Violet. You see pictures of them being swarmed as she's putting her in her car seat. I get the impression Michelle and Matilda are being shot from farther away.
Plus, I think that Michelle is able to play the sympathy card - they seem to be more respectful of her personal space, especially after Heath Ledger overdosed.

Unfortunately for Michelle they come to her and stake out the small neighborhood she lives in. For someone not interested in celebrity exposure, just trying to give her child a normal life and let her run and play on her own street, I'd imagine it must be very bothersome to spot paparazzi hiding out on every corner.
