$25,000 for a birthday? That's ridiculous. Besides Haily needs the money more than Hill since she is the ugly sister and doesn't actually have a career.

$10,000 per month is not enough?!?!? Some people need to get some perspective. Live like a normal human being you greedy *****!

Oh, but what I REALLY mean is the children are adults, they shouldn't come into play in this divorce settlement. Especially since they're clearly able to support themselves.

these celeb parents need to correct their skewed version of reality- they get used to living the celeb lifestyle and they forget they aren't the actual celeb. i mean 10k a month is not enough to live on? gimme a break- i know plenty of people, myself included, that would kill to receive 10k a month to live on. especially since her mom does not support her children, they are self sufficient! its all ridiculous!

I see both sides of this. On the one hand, yeah, 10,000 should be enough. BUT, if they spent 25000 as a gift for Hailey's birthday, I understand why her Mom would feel Hil deserves the same, whether she can afford it or not isn't the point.

He SHOULDN'T have to pay all of it by any means, that's why there are TWO parents. He SHOULD have just offered it though, she never should have had to take him to court over it. If she had called and said "You know, Hil's 21st is coming fast. I need your half" he should have owned up and paid it without getting the courts involved. Of course, maybe she didn't give him that chance, who knows.

It's just sad all around no matter which way you slice it.

i think that it's hard for celebukids to be faced with their parents nonsense and to have it out in the open. i'm sure that the Duffs would have preferred to keep it quiet but i guess we can't have everything right?

I love Hilary, it's interesting that Hils and Lindsay Lohan were both Disney starlets and they took totally different paths. I have to admit, though, that Lindsay is a bit more talented.

$10K a month should be enough for Hilary's mom. My dad makes about the same amount every month and that is more than enough to support himself and his three daughters (including me), and we live in an expensive area as well.

To be honest, I know that Hilary is a celebrity, so therefore, unfortunately literally EVERYTHING gets put out in to the public eye, but why is this anyone's business other than their family's...

Hilary is a very dignified and hard working girl, and she is always being scrutinised... This is her family, so it is like she is being again... Leave her and her family alone! They deserve just as much privacy as any other human being is entitled to!

She is one of the few celebrities that I actually admire. You never see her getting uncontrollably drunk and she does a really good job with keeping most of her personal life underwraps. I give her kudos!
