I'm not at all surprised she skipped the wake. She probably said "good-bye" to her grandfather in her own way rather than subject herself to more paparazzi, because you KNOW Michael would have had them there to "witness" the moment. Friggin' loser.

Iam so glad for them.Lindsay spended the weekend with someone she loved.They walked in NY spended their time eating ice scream,doing nice down to earth things.

I wish Britney was spending her weekend like that.Instead of going to Vegas for two days of heavy partying with 5 bodyguards and 10 hanger ons.
It seems Lindsay has cleaned up all those parasites around her.Its just she and Samantha,.I hope the hatred of some people and the press wont break them.

Though I'm not big on Lindsay, but she is mourning the loss of her grandfather the media and everyone need to respect her and the family's privacy during their time of grief.

If she couldn't attend the funeral was probably because she knew the paps had been trailing her. So she didn't want them turning her late grandfather's funeral into a circus by having to show up with pap roaches to bother the service. So it had to been hard for her to not be there for her grandfather .

This goes to show how sick the paps are when they can't seem to leave celebrity alone, esspecially when they are mourning for their loved ones.

Lovely_1, Mykie7 what are you guys talking about? Why would there be paparizzi at her GRANDFATHER'S funeral? He was not famous and Lindsay does not attract enough attention now to get a whole paprazzi frenzy at wake. She should go becuase she wants to go, and if she decides not to go it shouldn't be because of some delusional thoughts that she is too much of a paparazzi target.

I never really realized it but smoking has aged her, just like it did Britney. Stay away from the cigs kids.

Still ohjeeze, since Lindsay is famous the flippin paps would still try to photograph her at her grandfather's funeral by disrupting the service with their stupid camera flashes. These guys have no respect or regards for anyone's privacy, regardless whatever ceremony it is. These Dillweeds would sell their own mothers for a stupid pic of Lindsay or any celebrity.
Right now she is a major target because of her relationship with Samantha Ronson. I know it sounds like a ridiculous excuse, but if you have seen all those pics of Lindsay being photographed in places like stores and such, you would probably understand how much of a nuisance they can be to her. Cr@p if they had their way, they would probably steal a shot of her on the public toilet. Which is bad, but these guys are total mindless sickos. So to keep those leeches from bugging her grandfather's funeral service, she is mourning him from respectful distance and probably will visit his memorial grave later on.

She's got a target the size of the earth on her head right now where the paps are concerned. They WOULD follow her into a bathroom if they could figure out how to do it legally, so I'm certain they would have no qualms whatsoever about going to the wake if she had attended.

But that MAY not be the reason she didn't go. None of us know what kind of relationship she had with the man, maybe they weren't close. If that's the case, the only reason to go would be to support her Dad, which I'm sure she has NO desire to do right now. LMAO

You have some relation's issues with your dad, ok. But this is not the deal now and you have to support him a little bit by the way... He lost his dad for God sake!!

If she didn't go to the service we really can't judge her on why. She obviously has some deep seeded family issues, particularly with her father (tho I think she should take a cold hard look at her mother too!), so she may never have been close to her grandfather, and to go there and pretend otherwise would be fake, and more like she was looking for a photo-op than to just say I'm not going. I maintain that given her reckless behavior and romantic troubles, there is some sexual abuse in her past, and who knows from where. Just saying.
