Freshly back from her whirlwind trip to Mexico, Jess and John dined at Spanish Kitchen Monday night. What trip to Mexico, you ask? Why the trip to hand deliver a minivan to an orphanage, of course. Last August, somehow through the MTV Movie Awards, Jess won a convertible. Rather than take the new car, she asked for them to give her a minivan and, in response, donated it to the orphanage in Mexico she visited once years ago. All kidding aside, and though it's not like she was giving money out of her pocket, there's only so much you can rag on someone for giving to an orphanage, right? Seriously. Anyway, JJ (not Spears) still going strong!

16Part of the deal with her winning the car was that it be donated to the celebs. favorite charity. So, I applaud the automaker or dealership that really made the donation. Simpson only did what was required.

ok, I admire any act of giving, but she WON this car , and it was like a year ago I remember hearing about it, how long is she going to milk it? I actually thought it was another car she gave, it has been so long.

20they are growing on me, but its hard for me to believe that people are actaully bashing her for donating a car..yea it wasnt $$ from her pocket but there are a lot of people out there that would have just added that convertible to their collection of cars. and as it may seem to be selfless promotion for her to take proactive to them, they dont have clean water(all the calcium in their water actaully kills their teeth) so to have something to help their skin actaully kinda makes sence.

Sorry, can't praise her for taking acne cream products to kids. That's just shameless promotion for her. She only spent 40 minutes there signing autographs, and taking pics. Once again, we're getting weekly picture updates with this couple, I'm over them. So much for wanting a private romance.

39Even if it is for publicity, it still is helping someone less fortunate than her. So, she doesn't give a third of her income to charity, she still gives more than a lot of others do. How many of you would even think to ask for a minivan so that you can donate it instead of a convertible? I know I wouldn't.
Have any of you that are ragging on the acne cream actually been to an orphanage in Mexico? Whether she paid for the cream or not, those children are going to be grateful for it! It's a good deed.
All that said - I really can't stand her. But I can recognize a really good gesture when I see one. Living in a border state, and spending a fair amount of time in Mexico, I can honestly say that I am glad that some celebrity recognized that there were needs for our neighbors to the south and did something to help meet those needs. She had a positive impact on someone's life, and that should be applauded.
