The long anticipated 90210 spinoff had its two hour premiere last night, and we can't wait to hear what you all thought of the show. It already exceeded Buzz's expectations, and brought in great ratings, topping Gossip Girl on Monday night and making it the highest-rated scripted series premiere for the CW ever with 4.9 million viewers. What's your opinion on the new 90210 — love it or leave it?

Didnt' watch it. I'm all OVER GOSSIP GIRL THOUGHT! LOVED IT! this... I dont' know. i can't get over the original.
1I am in between love it and leave it. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. I'll give it a couple more episodes before I stop watching.
2Leave it! Gossip Girl is tha shiz though! I laughed at Andrea's daughter getting called thirty and I ♥ Kelly Taylor. I only watched for the "old" 90210ers but the Grandma was effing great!
3It was ok , a couple of similarities. But I will watch it as long as Shannon is on it.
4Honestly, I have to put leave it.
5Yeah, I geeked out. Big time. The show was FAR better than I expected it to be, and it was SO fun to sit there and go "Okay, that's the 'brenda', that's the 'brandon', that's the 'andrea' and so on. I really liked some of the differences, and the similarities were so much fun!
I can't wait now until next week! I hope this one has longevity and doesn't disappear like so many other shows I've gotten to like recently.
6Way above my expectations, which I guess qualifies me as a "love it."
7....lame. im already over it.
8I am on not sure how I felt about the show as a hole. I really only tuned in for Jennie Garth because I loved Kelly back in the day.
9The Lit teacher is fine though and some moments were alright. Silver is probably the best character though.
above my expectations too (though they were low) - however, am i the only one who noticed how scary skinny all of the new girls are?!
10missmls funny my husband commented on how skinny they all are
11i'm sort of in between love it or leave it - expectations weren't that high and it beat them but Gossip Girl is way more fun
Story/writing isn't that great. However I did find myself getting excited during all the shoutouts to the old show (erin silver and hannah zuckerman suarez!!)
Kinda reminds me of a bad kockoff of the OC mixed with 90210 original characters. Ill give it another week or two but they will have to step up the game.
Silver is definitely the best character so far (her and the cute teacher!)
12I am honestly only going to continue watching for the old cast. I love Jennie Garth and I am hoping Brandon comes back!
I don't think the show would have been bad if they would have cast another actor to play Dixon. He was soo cheesy I couldn't stand it. He'd fit in better on Hannah Montana. Rob Estes look hot and the actresses werent bad (even though the female sibling has quite a Disney quality to her acting as well).
I will Tivo the show as long as the old cast is a part of it but I have yet to be sold on the new group. They will never live up to the original but they still have along wat to go before they can even be compared.
13I wanted to wait for reviews before I blew two hours on a new show.
14it was really bad - in a really enjoyable way.
do love silver! and love the kelly connection.
missmls, i couldn't believe the skinniness of the girls. tiny! and it only served to make them look even younger.
15They do look SO skinny!
16The main chick was Ally McBeal Skinny
17I didn't hate it, but I guess I will need to watch a couple more episodes before forming a definite opinion. It took me half the season with the original 90210 to really enjoy it. Then, I was hooked. I liked that they included Erin Silver and hannah zuckerman vasquez in the show! I love Annie and Dixon's grandmother also. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens!
18something about it didn't work for me.
not a fan.
i'll give it a couple more episodes though before I stop watching.
And I kinda love the lit teacher.
19I like Silver too.
Agreed on Silver (You can call me Erin but I won't answer) LOL
I haven't made up my mind on Dixon. He just doesn't seem to fit, but he may grow on me. I liked what they had his character do though to prove himself. I thought that was pretty true to form. Maybe not to that extent, but I'm sure a new guy on an established team would have to do something extreme to be accepted. In High School, that's just a fact of life. Few are accepted at face value and even FEWER when sports are involved.
Their thinness? Yeah, I thought they were thin, BUT, being it is Beverly Hills, it's believable because that is such an image conscious city. Annie could have been "thicker" coming from Kansas, but for the rest of them, that gaunt look is probably what they've been raised to believe is perfect. I mean, can you imagine Naomi's Mom if Naomi was overweight? She'd have a conniption fit! Then the one on drugs, that makes sense BECAUSE she's a druggie. Silver, well, remember Kelly's weight issues? AND if you recall when Erin was little she was already watching her calories at 4 years old and Jackie thought it was no big deal. So that makes sense too.
Were they too thin? I thought so, but I also thought it played well into the story.
I agree that the writing was a bit thin, but remember this was a pilot. It was the "introduction of characters" so it would be hard to fit heavy story-lines in along with Character introduction.
I wanted more when it was over, which is a sign to me that I know where I'll be next Tuesday night. Although, I'll be the first to admit I'm not hard to please when it comes to TV. I mean hell, I like reality TV. LMAO
20i liked it...im sure ill keep up w/ the new season!!
21I'm undecided. I didn't watch the original, but I did sit through both hours of this last night. I'll probably watch it when I have nothing else going on.. it was all right.
22I thought the ending of the 2nd hour wrapped it up pretty well... but Boy was I lost during the very beginning.
(Of course, I had my toddler running around talking on the phone to her grandfather on my husband's phone.. my mom calling on my phone.. the husband outside cutting the grass.. me trying to make sure he's not overheated, chasing after my daughter to get her off the phone.. getting off the phone w/my mother and trying to watch the intro to the damn show. Then they had all these similarities on the show I was trying to remember.. just seemed a bit confusing at first.)
23missmls,
I definitely noticed the thinness. The girl that plays Erin Silver was on a few episodes of Reaper and it's astonishing how thin she is now. I'm not so sure that Shenae Grimes wasn't already thin like that before, but I know for sure Jessica Stroup was not.
24love it!
25tiabia, the questionable Devil's daughter [Reaper].. damn I love her! I didn't realize how tiny she was until last night. (Made me start to wonder how my daughter will be when she gets older and if her eating habits will be healthy.) She's really beautiful though. =/
26I loved her as Cady, and yes, I agree she is really beautiful!!!
27Leave it! It is no Gossip Girl.
28i was pretty pleased with what i saw last night and i can't wait to see how the season shapes up. there are so many twists that you could see coming for the season and i think that it'll keep people watching.
29The premiere episode was an hour too long. Two hrs was excessive. The show was OK. The main character Annie was boring. I agree, she was more suited to Disney. I liked Rob Estes. Hotness. The other characters, just meh. The storylines were pretty thin overall. Not sure the show will make it once the novelty wears off.
30I really wanted to hate it and even debated watching it or not, but I gave it a chance and was surprised! I really liked it. I mean, the acting & writing aren't so hot, but it was interesting enough.
31The girls are really thin, though, but I guess it makes them look the age they're playing instead of 27 year-olds playing 16 year-olds, because they still have "girl" bodies and not "woman" bodies...if that makes sense.
I'll probably continue to watch...I mean, my DVR is set up to record it now. ha.
I was a huge 90210 fan back in the day and I have to say that this new version was super lame.. Gossip Girl trumps over the New 90210..
32I had a hard time keeping up with the timeline of the show, but it seemed like an awful lot of drama happened in just a few days. So many relationships starting and ending and then there was Dixon getting put on and off the lax team...
33Ugh, it was lame, but in a strange twist, my husband loved it, and made me add it to my Tivo Season Pass list! Ugh!! He can't stand GG, but likes this?? I think it's just because he loved the orig. So I'll be watching it, even though I thought it was annoying.
34yes cast is scary skinny. Esp for such young girls.
Grandma is the actress who played Lucille from Arrested Development. Love her!
35I just a-dored it...wouldn't a gg and 90210 crossover be cool. The LA bratz battle the NYC socialites, fabu.
36anywayz, i'm open to the new show. let's just put it that way. i'm not mad at it.
I thought it was great. I love the brother and sister. I thought the writing was great too. And it had the perfect mix of old characters and new. Although the blog thing (Silver) could get old, just it has on GG.
37i watched the first hour and then had to turn it off - gave it a chance but the writing sucked, actresses/actors were cheesy, storyline was guess-able, and not enough characters returned for the remake. i'd watch if the old ones would come back ... this new crowd just doesn't cut it - even with their attempted ties and references to the old show. perhaps i'm just too old now for 90210 - i graduated with them back in 1993 ... i guess i've moved on.
38The jury is still out on it! i'll give it some more time!
39Watched about 20 minutes of it, got bored and turned back to CNN and MSNBC to watch the political drama unfold there.
40Contrary to other opinions, I like the fact that the main girl is a bit Disneyish. Some people are genuinely like that so if that makes you sick, well you can't make everyone happy. It's refreshing that she was sweet and that not everyone on the show was an outright b*tch - even the 'b*tchy' girl didn't seem that b*tchy to me, well at least not without reason. I think I prefer it to GG because they don't seem so over the top (maybe it's their acting? I dunno.) But I believed (if you can say that) in the characters more than in GG.
41Rally RE, ha ha. Yeah at first I was like.. am I too old for this? (graduated Jan '97 ..early), but then they threw the older characters in and I found myself relating to them all in differently.
42in (was going to write something else there)
43I thought it was good/okay - wasn't anything out of this world though. Ii liked it bc I am sick of Gossip Girl and all of their privledged shannninigans! Not that this is much diff. but it is a diff. show at least.
44I loved it of course because I am a sucker for that zip code
45More of the oldies!
46I loved it, I just don't care for kids out drinking and doing drugs. And I didn't like the kid saying Dixon was his B...h all of the time.
47Any show with attractive people is A-OK in my book!
48It's not nearly as good as the original, teen shows these days don't seem as real, they seem more corny. I don't know, I will give it a try though. If I can watch something cheesy like Secret Life of The American Teenager, then I probably shouldn't be too hard of this new 90210. I hope they bring more old characters back...would really like to see Brandon, Dylan, and David.
49I LOVED it. I think it has the potential to be just as deliciously over the top as Gossip Girl. And what a grand surprise to tune in and see Jessica Walters! I had no idea she was on the show. Love her!
