4Does it not bother you guys that Palin wanted Alaska to separate from the US? Doesn't sound like "Country First"

5Yep, last night was all I needed to push me off the fence and into McCain territory.
Up until then, I couldn't decide. With McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, I was definitely leaning that way, but his speech last night was all I needed.
COUNTRY FIRST. Period. End of Story.
6Inolved, no it doesn't bother me.
I've felt for a very LONG time that Alaska should be it's own entity. I feel the same about Hawaii. Just because she feels that the state isn't a part of the US does NOT mean she doesn't love the US.
Are you aware that many forwarders that ship to Alaska have to do so under International Tariffs? Are you aware that by seceeding Alaska would be able to cut down on the cost of getting supplies? Did you know that so many of the "bush" islands in Alaska pay PHENOMENAL costs for supplies BECAUSE they are part of the US?
There's a lot more to the issue of secession than just whether or not it's good for America. As Alaska's governor, I applaud her for supporting that idea. It's a good thing for her people.
There are many benefits to the US and to Alaska if this were to happen. It won't, but I don't hold it against her that she was trying to do the right thing for her state. I give her Kudo's for it.
7Wow
8It's interesting how based on one speech so many are so easily swayed. Anyway the wind blows...right?
