Jake Gyllenhaal took his padded spandex to the streets for a little bike ride Sunday afternoon. It's been a while since we've seen Jakey out living strong on his bike, but apparently he hasn't lost the passion. The rumor-y rumor Gyllen-news is that he is very very secretly dating Rendition costar Reese Witherspoon. Seeing as every young, single and beautiful costar duo is paired by the tabloids, rumors have plagued Jake/Reese since they worked together. Apparently this time the stories I have been resisting may, in fact, be true. While I don't yet entirely approve (and that totally matters), I gotta say they would be pretty freaking cute together. Now all we need are some photos...

19Unless you are an actual professional cyclist you should NOT be wearing bike shorts. They are not necessary for what it is you are doing. It would be like if I put on shoulder pads and a helmet every time I went to throw a football around with friends.

22Jake looks healthy, athletic. I could see him and Reese dating. Jake seems like a fun loving guy who is fitness oriented. Reese seems a bit more staid, yet her priorities are in place. If the chemistry is right, their relationship could end up being one of the more stable ones in Hollywood.

27Not to pick a fight gum dumpster, BUT, bike shorts aren't just for pros. If you're riding more than 15 or 20 miles, a good pair of padded bike shorts will make the ride much more comfortable. And if you're going for a multi-hour ride, you'd like to cover more ground then less and most of your energy goes to fight wind resistance, so low profile clothes make sense.
I'd hate to be photographed in mine though.
