Page Six reported last week that Jodie's neighbors don't like her. I wonder why? Here's more:
NEIGHBORS in Jodie Foster's West Village building say she's unfriendly. "We live in a sociable building where people treat each other in a friendly manner. Ms. Foster is an exception to this general rule," a neighbor reports. "During the 3 1/2 years she has had an apartment in my building, she has displayed bad manners such as turning her back on neighbors rather than saying 'hello' . . . It's as if Ms. Foster is afraid of contact with her neighbors.

I cut Jodie a ton of slack because she is so highly talented. If she took the time to flip me off, I'd feel as if I accomplished something major.

funny. i went grocery shopping at about 11:00 a couple of weeks ago and had a "neighbor" (who have never seen before) come up to me and ask me why i'm so unfriendly and why i don't get to know my neighbors. hello, it's 11:00 at night and i'm just now grocery shopping. kinda busy and who are you? then he tells me another neighbor went to the hospital in an ambulance the day before. how does this concern me? as if anyone bothers to ask about me or my family. why does everybody think everybody else should think they are so VERY INTERESTING?
7I find it odd, but I'm from the South. We strike up conversations with complete strangers all the time, so it's like an unspoken rule you at least wave hi to your neighbor. I'm also in one of those tiny towns where the whole neighboorhood knows exactly what is going on every second of the day, lol
However, if I were a celebrity, had had a stalker like she had, lived in a major city, etc.. I'd be a little people shy too.

12LOL SPM! I can understand why a celebrity would want to keep to themselves what with every one and their brother wanting to make a buck off of them. But personally, I'd love to have a friendly neighbor. Mine are all antisocial and rude...and they're not celebs so I won't cut them a break.

"she has displayed bad manners such as turning her back." umm who were they talking to, a 90 year old woman? it's nyc sweetie, no one is under any obligations here. as long as she holds the elevator, doesn't steal cabs and isn't throwing loud parties, she is being a polite neighbor.

The freakin' paparazzi were probably in Jodie's face when she was trying to have a personal cell phone conversation, so I can't really blame her for flipping them off.
As for those people in her building who say Jodie is a bad neighbor because of her "bad manners", if they would bother to read up on her, they will find out that she is an INTENSELY PRIVATE PERSON.
The poor woman has been through hell with the whole Reagan assassination attempt - so can you really blame her for wanting to keep to herself? Yeah, time may have passed since the whole Reagan deal...but that has gotta be something that just changes you forever.

20Neighbors vary. Some you would like to be friendly with and some not. Once you start talking to them then you are obligated and a b*tch if you don't keep it up.
21Wynter is right about the south. We moved from Cali where no one knows their neighbors to South Carolina for two years. The day we moved in one neighbor brought us a lemon merigue pie and another a cake. within two days we had met everyone in a two street diameter.
22aw, give her a break. she is one drama-free celebrity who keeps a consistent veil of anonymity. people seriously should just leave her alone, let her live her life & continue to make quality work.

24IMA I miss that about the south. I found Australians to be just as friendly. Finns on the other hand are very anti-social, my husband says shy, and they give you an odd look if you say "Hei" or smile at them.

27i know twinkle. Im in Az now and I miss the community feeling I had in the south. People would always stop you out of the blue to give a compliment or to chat. Always made eye contact and would wave even when they had no idea who the hell you were. I loved that!
28IMA - When we first moved to Finland, we lived on a very tiny island. Everyone knew who I was - the American - and knew everything about me yet no one ever talked to me much less waved or said hello. Our first day in our home in Sydney, our next door neighbors popped by to say G'Day and even held a cook out to introduce us to everyone else.

32Well, we don't know how long the person who was taking her picture was bothering her, or maybe he said some not nice things, there are always two sides to a story.
33i would be a b*tch if i were her too. this reminds me of my neighbor across the street. as you all well know, i just moved into a new house. you can only park on one side of the street because the street is so narrow. the lady across the street from us doesn't have a driveway, so she monitors the space in front her house like a vulture. anyway, we were outside on the trailor trying to get the heavy-ass headboard when i hear someone yell " [something inaudible]...and have to walk half a block with my groceries." Some yellow car was parked in her 'space.' I guess she just assumed it was one of ours. Needless to say i was pissed and waiting for her to come back out of her house so i could tell her how rude it is to yell things at new neighbors when you don't even know if the car is theirs or not, but she never did. give me a break, she NEEDS to walk more than half a block everyday cause she looks like a tank. ok that was mean, but she pissed me off and i will give her evil looks if i ever see her again

44here's a friendly neighbor story for you. we let our girls open our mail when it looks like junk stuff, they like getting mail. so we get one that looks like junk and when my 5 year old opens it it's porn! a dvd about frech twins playing poker. then we look at the address and it's no ours. i brought over to him and he asks if i 'want to come in". i'll pass thanks.
