James Wilkie Broderick was ready for school with his backpack as Sarah Jessica Parker led him through the streets of NYC yesterday. She joined the ranks of other stylish celebs with her pegged jeans, but made a statement with her vest that was all her own. Pinned to SJP's denim vest was a sign that read "Barack n Roll." We've seen lots of stars endorsing Obama with t-shirts, but leave it to Sarah Jessica to find an original way to show her support through both fashion and fundraising.

What a surprise.
3well, i think that it's great that she's taking her little one to school, however i'm not sure that i'm digging her look, or her need to promote obama. things like this make me want to support him less and less since there are sooo many celebs focused on raising money for him and gaining voters.
4Ilanac, why would this make you want to "support him less and less"? I don't get it, either you agree with him on the issues or you don't.
5I think SJP is great...she is bright, stylin' and seems to be a loving mom. Seeing her sport her Obama vest makes me love her even more:)
Her clothing choices are always right on. Her choice of presidential candidate - way off!
6heatherly,
i agree. you should support a candidate based on issues...i do really like obama as a person, but i do not agree with many things he supports. But decide on a candidate because of issues, not because of celebrity endorsements.
7I see she remembered to dress the kid this morning.
8I totally get where ilanac is coming from. I'm just tired of seeing it everywhere.
9so Katie Holmes has actually set this rolling-up-baggy-jeans "trend" successfully?
10If you are passionate about supporting someone, I think you should be able to show that support as much as you want regardless if you're a celebrity. And the reason you're seeing it so much is that people are excited by Obama as a candidate and/or energized into action by the current dismal state of our government.
11Yuck. That's all I think when I look at those pictures of them. She's grossly too skinny, and she's trying to morph her male son into a Carrie version of herself. WEIRD.
12I think it's great that she spends so much time with her son and does normal mom things - like taking her kid to school. James Wilkie is a cutie.
13Hat to politicize this blog but in this election, so far, I am chosing to support the person and *not* the Party. Which means I am uncomfy with a first time, junior senator running for Pres., one with scant experience, mostly as a grass roots organizer. SJP should do a little more research.
14she always seems to look so effortlessly cool.
15Such a style icon! But how flat is her stomach on pic #1????
16What is wrong with her wearing a Barack pin? Seriously? I have a Barack t-shirt, know people who wear shirts or pins a lot, and that's somehow not okay for a celebrity? I just don't get how this is offensive. It's America, it's called free speech, even for celebrities.
17And it is other people's freedom of speech and freedom of expression to think it is stupid. lol, it's a double edged sword.
