Nicole Richie and Joel Madden kicked off a new fundraiser for the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation at a Marble Slab Creamery yesterday in LA. With their new effort, if you text the world "child" to 90999, a $5 donation charge will be sent to the foundation and automatically added to your phone bill. While at the event, Nicole and Joel couldn't help but gush about their inspiration for all the giving back — Harlow. He talked about her growing up so fast: "She says 'Mama' and 'Dada'. . . [and] when we walk into a place, she waves to everyone." Regarding another child, Nicole said, "We're just enjoying every day. . . and if it happens, it happens." It's clear that Nicole and Joel have big hearts when it comes to kids, so we'll just have to wait and see if that means they'll have an equally large family.

well i think that it's a nice thing that they are doing with their foundation. it takes a lot of negotiations to partner with the cell providers to get the texting thing going and that's an easy way for people to get involved. i wonder how they are going to promote it though - since i don't know how i would have found out about it outside of popsugar.
