Mandy Moore is looking gorgeous in ELLE Magazine's Green Issue, which hits newsstands nationwide on April 17th. In the interview Mandy talks about her music career, calling herself the "young, un-talented one." I'm all for celebs being humble, but I think she's being a bit too hard on herself. You know you all loved her song, Candy. Anyway, it almost feels like she's using reverse psychology since she is out there to promote her new album. Here's more:
She's blunt when looking back on her image as a '90s-era teen pop star. "I'm sure I was viewed as the young, untalented one," she says. "Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera had some great pop music. And then there was Jessica Simpson. And then there was me. And that's fine."
Moore has even called her previous albums "trite, blah pop music" – but she chalks it up to the foolishness of youth. "I'm sure other people look back at things they did when they were 15 and go, 'Oh God.' That's how I feel about it. It's embarrassing."

6I always have been a mandy moore fan - she seems so sweet. And she is really cute. Her stuff was kinda blah pop but no need for her to put herself down like that! She is still a hell of a lot cooler than some of those popstars out there.
7I don't remember her music. i only remember her song from A walk to remember (which i love and my bf hates bc i play it so much whenever i get all romantic in the head) and that candy song.
i don't see her as an artist anymore, she's a packaged teen star to me nowadays.

18yeah, her pop music wasn't the best, but i loved loved LOVED her songs off of a walk to remember. i think she can definitely sing. she has a sweet voice. i'm a fan
19I adore this girl. She is talented, even if she likes to state it in a humble fashion. Mandy has been able to keep her private life out of the tabloids, thereby being able to retain her untainted reputation and dignity. If I remember correctly, she did suffer from depression these past few years, and I am just happy to see her coming out of that stage of her life with a great new start.

21She certainly has changed a lot over the years but I don't think she was ever the untalented one. She was just younger than the other popstars. Plus, she's the only one of them who is a half decent actress, so she has that at least!
22I HATED her when she first came on the scene! I couldn't stand her music & I really really didn't like A Walk to Remember (well, thats not true, I just didn't want to like it) but when I saw her in Saved... man, I totally changed my mind!
