Oprah wowed in red as she opened the show after the cool What's my line? clip but unfortunately following her was the reality hosts talking about nothing. It was almost as uncomfortable as watching Ricky Gervais ask for his Emmy back from Steve Carell. Yes it was funny but I was getting a bit worried that Steve was going to cry or beat the crap out of him. Other quick thoughts: Steve Martin, Genius. Josh Groban, surprisingly cool! Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth, favorite presenting couple. Cruel joke that was perfect — making reality TV host category wait until after the commercial break to see who won. Desperate Housewives all dolled up. Yay Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Mad Men! Click here for all the winners from last night. As for next year, let's hope the Emmys settle on one host since this year's group was like an experiment gone bad... even if some of Tom Bergeron and Heidi Klum's banter was pretty entertaining — that huge black and blue mark is going to hurt tomorrow.

i would have to say that it was probably bad planning with the advertising stuff - or...it was meant to be somewhat similar to how the reality shows do their vote offs. you see all the talk and then finally you get to find out who was voted off. oh well...i think that overall it was ok - a bit strange to watch at times, but at least we saw something new this year with all the hosts.
1Heidi should have just hosted by herself. I thought the 5 hosts was kind of annoying and I was really glad I Tivo'd it.
2I expected much more from the five hosts
Josh Groban was my favorite Emmy moment!!!
3I HATED that opening, until hey got rid of Seacrest, Mandel and Probst, it was absolutely STUPID. Heidi and Tom Bergeron either should have hosted it by themselves, or get rid of Tom and just Heidi. They're the only ones with any on-screen Chemistry. Howie is just STUPID, Ryan thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread and he's just, well YUCK, and Probst needs to go back to survivor island.
4LOL Mykie7, I love that review!
5Did Oprah put back on the wight?
6lol.
omg i thought i was going to die of laughter from ricky gervais...honestly why didnt he host the show? i think that was the highlight of the evening for me. hah. loved it
7Why thank you lucy, I try! LMAO
8Onholiday - I agree totally. I thought he was hilarious!
9I have to say Ricky Gervais was the only highlight of the evening for me; Carell just looked like he had no sense of humor at all. The rest was pretty awful - now I remember why I stopped watching these self-adulating Hollywood circle-j**ks years ago.
10Is Heidi's black and blue authentic? Could be makeup.
11Ricky Gervais made the night! He should host EVERYTHING! Also, Steve Carrell's cry face was hilarious, it was obviously a bit, he had the emmy under his seat- it's acting
12Steve Carell was ACTING! He wasn't really going to cry or punch him. It was just a skit that went on too long. Ricky Gervais should've hosted this year, or Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
Heidi's black and blue mark was authentic. She told Page Six (I think) that their plan went awry and she actually got bruised. She's a good sport though. I liked her rapport with Tom Bergeron, they were the only hosts that weren't annoying. I can't believe Jeff Probst won!
13i'm with you California girl. And yeah, that skit went on WAY too long, it was almost painful toward the end. I couldn't believe he actually STOOD there and WAITING for Carrell to give it to him. He carried it to the point of tacky if you ask me.
And like I said early on, they should have just let Heidi and Tom host it, they were definitely the most entertaining to watch.
14hmmmm..white?and...what's that combination?
