Nicole has been busy filming "Australia" with Hugh Jackman, but took a little break to receive an award for her hard work off screen. She received the Companion of the Order of Australia, which is the country's highest civil honor and the same as being knighted in England! She was honored for all her charity work with kids and cancer research. Here's more:
"It's a pat on the back, which as a little girl is something I think you dream of," she said.
She added that her parents would be more proud than when she won an Oscar.
"I think the great thing about you, Ms Kidman, is what you have done to better the human condition," said Governor-General Michael Jeffery, who presented the award.
"Not only are you a tremendous actress but you are a great attribute to the nation," he added.
We've been hearing a lot about celebs giving back lately, so it's great to hear that Nicole is being recognized for her efforts. We're also loving that she put her hair back since she had been going for the not so hot frizzy look recently.

10I think she looks better than usual here and I like the dress. One thing though: Nicole, you're 40, please stop with that "little girl" stuff. Scrunchies and bows are a bit young too.
11I'm not digging the dress either, the colour is wrong. As far as her hair, a scrunchie for this kind of an occassion? No, no, no. I just don't like her but glad to hear she does some good deeds!
