Hayden Panettiere joined her parents Leslie and Alan to celebrate her little brother Jansen's 14th birthday at Buca Di Beppo in LA on Thursday night. It should have been a happy occasion, but earlier that day Alan was formally charged with battery following his domestic violence arrest in August. It's a pretty crappy present for Jansen, but hopefully their family is able to pull through this tough time that Hayden said was just a misunderstanding.

well hayden finally looks age appropriate - i guess that's the side that's brought out when she's with her family. i'm kind of surprised that the charges were brought up against her father since they were dropped after the event. i guess they can be filed whenever right?
