Paul hung out on the racetrack in Asheboro, NC in October 2002. In the 1970s Paul developed a love for car racing. He turned professional in 1977. On his love for racing
Paul once said, "I was never a very graceful person. The only time I ever really feel coordinated is when I dance with Joanne, and that's not my doing. But when I'm behind the wheel of race car, I feel competent and in charge. It's something I really enjoy."
