If you thought Jessica Alba's last Declare Yourself ad was intense, check out the newest image in the campaign. Taken by photographer David LaChapelle, the ad features Jessica wearing a Hannibal Lechter-esque device called "The Muzzler" to represent silencing yourself when you don't vote. The provocative photo is hard to look at, but will get people talking. So what do you think of Jessica Alba's new ad — scary or effective?

Effective!
they are just doing it for the publicity whatever is the president wont affect the way they live in any way
That's freaking awesome. I think I'm liking her a teensy bit more right about now. Vote, people.
Sorry,but she looks so awful
She's supposed to look awful, that's what gets the message across. Just as Christina Aguilera did four years ago. I thought that ad was pretty effective as well.
Where's the choice for dumb? This is just as cheap as the "Vote or Die" stuff.
Please.
now only if jessica can keep the muzzler, she would finally keep herself from sounding so snobby and dumb in her interviews
Love it! And, really, if you can't be bothered to take the 20 minutes necessary to vote you should be muzzled anyway because your opinion does not matter. Oh wait, you are still entitled to your freedom of speech... darn.
I'm sorry, I think she looks ridiculous. Not scary. Not compelling. Not thought provoking. The previous ad where she was bound in black tape or whatever was far more interesting. This one is just stupid.
so i see there are going with the silence of the lambs theme..well whatever get the message across..good for them!
I was going to say JG...Hannibal Lector...*shutter*
Forget the ad, she should have this on all the time.
She doesn't inspire me to vote. I wonder if she even finished high school.
Just like I said with the other ad... she did not silence herself with the muzzler... someone else would obviously have put that on her.
when i saw the picture i thought it was a campaign against physical abuse towards women.
I really like this. The one question I have is, Did she do it just to get out the vote or because she is in a certain political camp and is trying to appeal to those of her persuasion?
scary.
i hate to say it but i think that this ad is a bit creepy. i get the point that they are trying to make but i don't think that it's really going to make me vote any more than normal because she's wearing that muzzler. i don't know who thought of that - but i think that perhaps they should have thought harder.
Whatever works I say..if it gets a couple Jessica Alba fans (or haters, depending on what you think of the ad I suppose) to vote, then it's worth it.
hmm... i still don't like her.
reminds me SAW... SCARY~~~~~
damn...
...its too early in the morning for this sh!t..jeez..i haven't even gotten
thru my coffee..
I wanted the "Laughable" option.
I cannot believe that the American voting system has come to this: a D-list star presumably nude and wearing a muzzle in the name of "getting people to vote." Yeah freaking right. This is insulting to my intelligence and Americans as a whole.
i'm confused. is it declare urself ad or halloween movie "Saw V" ad?
Anyone remember that the final outcome of an election is decided by the ELECTORAL COLLEGE? Which can vote any way it wants, regardless of how the states vote?
Voting is fine, but ultimately you don't really have a say through voiting. We should teach people how to pressure their representatives to vote the way they want, too -- by calling, sending faxes, and doing stuff that is more active.
A little over the top for voters!
Voting is the last thing on my mind when I see this picture.
now i remember a similar campaign in the UK where a young mans mought is zipped up to send the same message. which was fine. i think what alarms me in this picture are her tears. no need to go that far, methinks.
there are other ways to get your point across...
Stupid. Hopefully she is not arrogant to the point she thinks this will make someone say, "You know what, I was not going to vote until I saw that image of poor beautiful Jessica Alba. Now I am going to go vote for Obama in November." If an American decides to vote because of something a celebrity says, chances are the country was better off without the person's vote in the first place."
That muzzle doesn't even look real--just like it was Photoshopped in.
If celebs want to get people to vote why don't they put their feet on the ground and volunteer for voting registration drives? Or donate to fund them?
Agree w/ adrianaaa-- it's more like a violence against women campaign.
it's flipping creepy.....
I think that's effective! It's an incredible add! I really like it and you really can understand the message of this add!
It's effective enough, and cool...but since when does anyone care about what Jessica Alba says?
Still, annoying or not, everyone's voice should be heard.
You'd all better rock the vote!
That ad is so stupid I just can not stand Jessica Alba. Something about her is so fuc**** ANNOYING!! I have NEVER liked that B*tch or her movies. She is my least favorite celeb. Especially doing retarted ass stuff like this ad.
"when i saw the picture i thought it was a campaign against physical abuse towards women."
Yeah. Unless you know what it's about already it's not terribly effective. If there is even any explanation, it's too tiny to read in the ad.
Drews fan, she always looks awful
Scary. Way scary. I don't see how this is supposed to be effective at all.
Lame. She's annoying.
Where's the 'Fug' option?
I don't like it. I wonder if these adds really get anyone to say to themselves "OK, I think I'll go vote".
scary she looks awful
These ads are creepy. And this one is even creepier than the first one.
Now this ad is SCARY. The other one wasn't that bad.
David LaChapelle always does provocative, sexual ads though so this is nothing new from him. You should see the one where a horse nuzzles Angelina on her breasts - while she's topless
I think they meant fr this to look masochistic, by not voting your silencing yourself= self mutilation. It didn't work this looks very sadistic and scary.
totally scary...and she doesn't even have a realistic facial expression
They could have at least used an appealing actor.
totally effective. this image doesn't scare me. it portrays a metaphor for what you're doing by not speaking out
