There are definitely some people on which I fully condone the high waist trend. As I learned this week, Jessica Simpson is not one of those people. Apparently neither is Mischa Barton. At least not in these ones. She rocked these bad boys in London this week and I'm not sure why, but somehow I feel like the high waisted shorts are way worse than high waisted pants. Judging from these two ladies this week (and others in recent times) I think we'll be seeing a lot more of these ahead. Brace yourselves, it's going to be a bumpy (and frumpy) road. Literally.

I think the only person that could really pull that together well would be Kate Moss. (Even though I don't think she's the hottest woman on the earth but she does pull together outfits really nicely).

8I think high-waisted jeans/shorts/pants/etc. should not be worn by anyone. I think they are gross and unflattering on everyone.

10I don't like high waisted shorts, but if you are going to wear them, she should not have worn the big sweater over them. It covers up the sillouette, and you need to see that they go in at the top, so it doesn't look like she is wide all over. The horizontal stripes up top don't help either.
If you are going to wear them, you have to keep everything else super sleek. (The reason it didn't work for Jess is that there is nothing sleek about her top half!)

13I'm not loving this trend. These shorts look the shorts the moms who have given up wear all summer with giant t-shirts. It doesn't help that no element of this outfit look like it really belongs together (well, maybe the sweater and the boots). Also high-wasited jeans are supposed to create the illusion of or enhance long legs but not if you going to create all those horizontal cuts down the leg.
14There's a reason why people giggle at grandpas and others who wear their pants/shorts pulled way up. It looks funny. Why do people like Mischca think that they can get away with any trend? So wrong.
15I thought this torturous style in fashion went out in the late 90's (AKA as "mom jeans") and I have to admit, I was not sad to see it go. It does not look good on her, and it def. did not look good on Chestica a few days ago either!

29The high-waisted pants/shorts CAN be flattering and attractive, but one has to be extremely savvy and know which choices to make. This is not a good choice. I prefer dress pants that are high wasited with a big belt. And zeldaf's right, everything else MUST be sleek.
