Sanjaya Malakar may have been voted off American Idol last week, but it doesn't look like we're free of him just yet. The teenager was selected by People Magazine to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner, along with lots of celebs and politicians. The event had a less comical tone than usual due to the VA Tech tragedy, but Sanjaya still got his first taste of fame, rubbing elbows with the likes of Teri Hatcher and Petra Nemcova. Here's more:
The mild-mannered Malakar, meanwhile, told PEOPLE he's just trying to take it all in. "It's been really a whirlwind. I've just been trying to ride the wave and go one day at a time," said Malakar, wearing a dark pinstriped suit and highlighted, loose curls.
The swooning fans made him "a little uncomfortable," he admitted. But it's attention he may have to get used to as he sets his sights on a future beyond music. "I want to go into acting or modeling, maybe Broadway," said the former Idol, who thinks doing a hair commercial "Would be awesome!"
We were happy to see Sanjaya get the boot from AI, but it's good to see that he's stopped crying and is seeing Idol as a positive experience. Plus, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry still made it big without the big win, so you never know (but please say it isn't so).

10I agree with everyone on Teri's face. I've thought it for a long time and either this is how she's aging or the botox isn't working. There's just something not right there. Maybe she's trying to hard to overcompensate for aging, but Teri, dear, just let it happen! Being on a "sexy" show probably doesn't help matters anyway.
As for her daughter's dress, yes it looks a bit too high-fashion for such a small child. A bit too sexy, if you ask me. But then again, that's the state of America's youth these days.

13I sorta feel bad for Sanjaya everyone is giving him a hard time but its not his fault he was on the show for sucha long time his 10 yr old fans kept him on. Yes, he actually has fans I can't believe it either but he's not the worst singer on the planet. He's a bit better than someone like William Hung lol. Anyway I don't think he can model though but a hair commercial would be funny and i heard he might be on Hannah Montana lol, how appropriate.

17Princis11-I agree. It is a very cute dress, but she is too young for strapless. Adding spaghetti straps would have made the dress much more age appropriate.
